Re: Crowne Plaza Universal Anyone Been

I have been in the lobby before and it looks nice. I have a friend that books timeshare tours out of there and told me it was a nice one. What kind of rate did you get for it?

Re: Crowne Plaza Universal Anyone Been

4 nights for $129 total, doing a 90 minute time share tour. Can't beat that, PLUS they give me a $100 american gift card when done with tour. It's not Disney, but it's $29.00 for 4 nights!!!

Ask if it is Vistana that's doing the timeshare tour. If it is, then I would say go for it. They are not high pressure at all and have a good reputation around here. Congrats on getting such a great deal!
Psst- you can try to haggle them down on Disney tickets to sweeten your deal before you book.

Re: Crowne Plaza Universal Anyone Been

Yes, Sheraton Vistana, that is why we did it, seemed like a no brainer to me. This is a get-a-way long weekend for me and my wife - no kids!!! so that is why we are doing this. We once made a pack to ourselves that we would never stay off property again, we had a bad experience with a hote and lack of security.

We once did Westgate! Beautiful 3 bedroom condo with a 60" TV and hot tub...very nice, but the 90 minute tour turned into 2 1/2 hours and they were rude and high pressured.
Thanks for the reassurement about Visatana!

Re: Crowne Plaza Universal Anyone Been

OK! BEEN THERE AND BACK, WHAT CAN I SAY! It was a very very nice place. Loved the comfortable bed. We were there without children and liked it, i would not stay there with my children.
I do not like the traffic levels on International drive, it is horrible.

All in all for $29.00 for 4 nights EXCELLANT. If I had to pay the rack rate of $199 - nope!

Again a 4 star rating from me, perfect for our adult weekend, but not my "family" type of get-a-way. No Magic

Re: Crowne Plaza Universal Anyone Been

Yeah, that International drive traffic can be horrible, I drive through it almost everyday because my office is right off of I-drive.
I'm glad you got a good deal. I agree with what you said earlier about Westgate being high pressure. They have always been that way and will never change. I know alot of people that work for Vistana and I have done one of their tours myself and they are much nicer. The flip side of that is that Westgate gives better gifts than Vistana.

Oh Yeah! Read my post called Second Honeymoon.
My wife and I had a blast, we origianally had resi's at Port Orlean, but with savings for the timeshare tour, plus $100 cash gift...well it was worth it. We had the best dinner ever at the Brown Derby
