Nick Hotel

My DS is begging me to stay at the Nick hotel on our next vacation. I really want to stay on Disney property, but am considering staying at the Nick for a couple of nights. Has anyone stayed there? (Oh, the things we do to make our kids happy )

I haven't been in there, but rode past it earlier this month. It looks really cool. Have you checked out the pictures?

Re: Nick Hotel

ddoll, my DS and I have looked at the pictures on the website and it does look like a fun place to stay. I have read some good reviews and some bad reviews and I can't make up my mind. We will be going to Disney for probably 5 days and to universal/IOA for two days, and to Sea World for one day. When we go to Universal, we will stay at the Hard Rock so that we can use our room key as a front of the line pass. But for the other nights, I really wanted to stay at Disney. But DS really, really, really wants to stay at Nick. He will be 11 on our trip, so I guess this is a good age for that hotel. I just don't know!

You know Judy, I'm sure it's just like anything else: you have to try it for yourself.

No matter what, you're gonna have fun and if your DS is that enthused about it, that alone will make your visit very special.

Go for it and then be DC's first reviewer!

Re: Nick Hotel

ddoll, you make a good point. I was thinking that he will only be 11 once. Kids grow up so fast. In a few years he probably won't even be interested in it. So, I guess I should just take the plunge and give it a try. I can always stay at Disney again after this trip. I'll definitely write a review.

Well now I'm excited! I've been interested in hearing from someone first hand on that hotel. Please take lots of photos, inside and outside.

I think you should give it a shot! And review it for us just like ddoll said! You just won't know until you try it. My boys would love to stay there too.

You make a VERY good point! Why not split it between a Disney property and the Nick...?

Re: Nick Hotel

Well, I've talked it over with the family and we are going to give the Nick hotel a try in September. I hope he has a good time and it is worth it. He is so excited about it. I will definitely take pictures and post a review. So, I think we will stay 6 nights there, and then 3 nights at Universal. I love Disney and we will go there for 6 days, but DS wants to go to Universal/IOA so we are doing that too. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Thanks for the comments!

Re: Nick Hotel

Hey Disneyfever, I just wanted to add that my local newspaper did a write up about it last summer and their only complaint was that there was very little for adults to do to escape the madness at the resort. They said "don't go and expect relaxation." Apparantly it's ALOT of hubbub for children, but it sounds like that's what your DS wants. hehe!

Have fun!!!

Re: Nick Hotel

Wish, I've read a lot of the same things. I know DS would just love it. I want to do a spilt stay though, with the relaxing hotel being at the second half of our trip. So, we will either do the Nick for 6 nights, then the Hard Rock for three or the Nick for 3 nights and a Disney resort for 6 nights. The only reason I'm thinking of the Hard Rock is because we are doing two days at Universal. If you stay on-site, your room key is a FOTL pass at a lot of their rides. That would be really nice. Also, the hotel looks fun.
I hate making decisions. I just know that we are definitely splitting our stay. As fun as the Nick hotel looks, I need at least three nights of comfort and relaxation! So, I guess I will figure it all out when the time comes. I will probably change my mind a million times before then anyways!
