WANTED! Cheapest Orlando hotel in the world...

Okay gang

Y'all know how much I've been griping about missing my family once I'm in WDW...
Tonight my sister told me.....she's planning on coming to visit me with her son Theo at the end of May for his 3rd birthday!!!

YAY!!!!!!!

So, she'll be coming for 4 days plus 2 travel days, around the 25th of May

Now I need to find her the CHEAPEST flights and hotel (non-disney) all we care about is making this DIRT cheap haha, the main point of the trip is to visit together

HELP to all those WDW planners

Re: WANTED! Cheapest Orlando hotel in the world...

Mainly - what is the cheapest hotel close to WDW...she's not going to be renting a car so it need to be close enough to the resort but like really really cheap...she's hoping to spend aroudn $1000 total on this trip, so for flights, hotel and food (I think I can get her free park passes...)

Re: WANTED! Cheapest Orlando hotel in the world...

I actually do get 4 free park admissions for 12 days each, but I'm not sure if I don't get my maingate pass untill I've been there for 3 months...either way I'm sure there is another CM there who would be able to sign her in, and the pass is only $200 for 5 days if we can't do that.

Our main worry is hotel prices and transportation to WDW from the hotel.

Re: WANTED! Cheapest Orlando hotel in the world...

Aren't you going to be able to get a hotel discount? My neice's friend just went into the program about a month ago and my neice just went down to visit her and she told me her friend got the hotel rooms really cheap.

Re: WANTED! Cheapest Orlando hotel in the world...

Hey Tess. If you go on www.travelocity.com and type in the dates it will give you a comprehensive listing of hotels and their average nightly rates. You can look at pictures and see the hotels ammenities, location, and ratings. That's how I find hotels when traveling to areas I am unsure of. After you choose one I would then go to www.tripadvisor.com and type in the name and address of the hotel and it will give you CANDID photos and reviews of people who have stayed there. There are PLENTY of affordable places in the area. Will she be renting a car too?

Don't forget about www.priceline.com sometimes you can get amazing deals there as long as you don't have one hotel in mind.

Re: WANTED! Cheapest Orlando hotel in the world...

Tessa,
I am one of the cheaperst people you will ever meet, meet well on the internet anyways...my husband calls my a gypsy anyways for a cheap hotel room my husband and I are staying in the Confort Inn Buena Vista in the first week of may and it is about 40.00 a night cheap huh? Anyways the price is about 75.00 to 56.00 a night but if you stay longer than 3 days the longer you stay the more you get off of your stay, we are staying for a week so it averages about 45.00 a night with taxes.. And they have a shuttle to the parks!!! They only transportation that we had to worry about was from the airport to the hotel and vise versa but we are going through Mears also very cheap and not high class it is a van, like a school bus that drops people off at their hotels that is 30.00 round trip back and fourth to the airport. Well that it about as cheap as you can get I have done a ton of research on this and I am a real no thrills person. We were going to stay at the value resorts as we did last year but the most that we really seen of that place was the back of our eyelids :-)
Here is a link for you to the hotel I was talking about
plus you get a coffee maker in your room, fridge and a Mic

BLESSINGS!

Re: WANTED! Cheapest Orlando hotel in the world...

I use Priceline and Hotwire a lot and have gotten some INCREDIBLE deals...only thing is you don't know what hotel it is until after you pay, just the general area. But about 9 times out of 10 that I used them, it has usually been much better than I was expecting for the price. Only once in Nashville did I get a 'dud' and was not happy with the hotel. I have not used them for airfare though, because I can usually find cheaper fares elsewhere and I like to know when I am flying.

Whenever I use Hotwire or Priceline, I checkout this site to get a vague idea of what I am bidding on...it has been very helpful: http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?

If you like seeing hotel names, Sidestep is a good site, as well as lastminutetravel and cheaptickets.

skyauction is a site where you can bid on hotels and other travel. Sometimes you can get an amazing deal through them.

travelzoo and site59 have some good deals from time to time.

Re: WANTED! Cheapest Orlando hotel in the world...

What about a CM discount at one of the value resorts? I have no idea what the discount is so I don't know if it would bring it down to be about the same as an off site hotel.
