Vacation Village at Parkway

I bought a minivan last year. Anyway, I got a promotional mailer from the dealership, and I "won" a "free" week at any resort listed under their travel agency's website. This one was the only one listed in the Orlando area. It's not totally free, but I only have to pay $138 for an entire week. On their website, it's about $100/night. So, if I can talk DW into it, we can get a very inexpensive vacation. Does anyone have any input on this resort? All I know about it is what I just wrote, and that it's a time-share resort. Thanks in advance, everyone.:heart :)

Never anything for nothing! I'm always skeptical about these "Free vacations" especialy when it's a time share or promotional thing. They usually want you to set in on a "Short presentation" which turns into half the day and then they give you a high presure sales ptich to buy. I'd check it out real careful like before I commit to it!

Jeff, it is a timeshare resort in Orlando. It looks pretty nice, and it is an RCI Gold Crown Resort, which means it has to meet some pretty strict requirements. It should be clean and pretty nice, but don't expect the Beach Club Villas.

I have heard the same thing, the presentation here is very high pressure, and beware, the prices are very very high.

What are the other resorts, and I will see if I can find a better one for you.

Thanks for the warning, guys. I kinda figured on the pressure, since I remember signing up for a "free" park ticket one time while we were staying at the All-Stars, and wound up spending a high-pressure morning at a different time-share. The reasons this one interests me is that the car dealership is a no-haggle, no pressure, lowest price on the windshield dealership with an excellent reputation in the area. Also, the website that the contest directed me to has nothing about a sales pitch in their terms and conditions, and I'd refuse to go if they insist on that. Mickey, as of now, that's the only one listed in the Orlando area, although they do have other resorts worldwide. If you're interested in checking it out further, the website is www.weeklink.com. I always told myself I'd never stay off-site again, but if it really is only $138/week, it may be worth it.:o

Jeff

My guess is that this timeshare has had a hard time selling out, so they have a bunch of rooms that go empty each week, and they figure that it is better to get some money rather than none, and bring in a prospective buyers at the same time.

Just watch out for the hard sell and have a great time.

We stayed at Vacation Village at Parkway last year. We thought it was very nice and for $138 dollars you are getting a very good deal. We did not sit through a sales presentation so I can't help you there. The room was very nice as was the pool area. It was only 5 minutes to the Disney Main gate. I would stay there again without any hesitation.

Thanks, tylies,
Welcome to DC. You've already helped me out with your first post. Hope you like it here. Looking forward to more posts from you.:heart :)
P.S. I'm still trying to talk DW into it. She wants to use the week somewhere else. Wish me luck.
