Sea World....worth it?

I just found out that Sea World is having their summer promotion where adult tickets are the same price as children. We have been talking about bringing 4 yr old ds to Sea World but are not sure if he would like it. I have heard very mixed reviews lately. The promotion allows you to buy tickets til I think December then they do not expire until February. We are going to WDW in Sept and thought maybe we would take the Sunday we are there and hit Sea World. Or maybe make a trip to Sea World over the summer <I am a glutten for punishment....Orlando in the summer...ick!!!!!!>

So what are your thoughts on Sea World these days?

Re: Sea World....worth it?

I was doing a bunch of searching for info and I suppose Im disappointed in the cost to go compared to what it had to offer compared to Disney. We decided that it was not worth getting transportation there and spending the money on the admissions for a one day deal. But we are also spoiled as we have the Mystic aquarium if we wanted to see shows like that.

Sounds like a good deal. Do you know if there is a special promotion code you have to use to get this price?:

Re: Sea World....worth it?

We love SeaWorld. I think it's absolutely worth visiting. It's a nice change from the Disney Parks, they have some terrific shows and attractions, the park itself is beautiful and Kraaken has got to be one of the best rollercoasters, ever. Journey to Atlantis is wild and fun and you will get soaked. The new Dolphin show is wonderful! Kind of like a mini Cirque du Soleil. The waterfront has some great restaurants. If you get the chance, definitely go.

Re: Sea World....worth it?

Such a beautiful park and what outstanding shows. There is really no comparison to Disney since virtually everything at SeaWorld is unique to SeaWorld. The Shows are absolutely top notch and worth every penny of the admission. The cleanliness and beauty of the park is worth half the cost. Then, they have rides, opportunies to pet and feed dolphins, and Shamu! SeaWorld can easily fill one day and you not have enough time to see all they have to offer. Yes, take the deal, have fun. I bet you even find and will be surprised at how much you enjoyed and miss SeaWorld once you return home from your trip.

Yes, it's worth it. And don't let any of these knuckleheads tell you otherwise.

Re: Sea World....worth it?

hey- Im not a knuckehead!! he he he
I just have never been there and dont know what to think based on the actual website- So to figure out the transportation cost to get there and back with 4 kids and a stroller and carseats... and then the cost to go for one day is just a lot for us without knowing what we were getting into.

So sell me on it too- before I commit to two nights at WDW for our "pre cruise" days

Re: Sea World....worth it?

Sea world is a great place to visit. Yes it is not Disney, but as others have said it is unique in its own ways. You can feed stingrays and dolphins ans see a lot of sea life up close. The shows are all really good. We have made the trip to SeaWorld on two separate trips to Orlando. We are going to WDW again on Sept and are thinking about adding another day so we can go to Sea World. If you can fit it in...go!

Re: Sea World....worth it?

Definately go. It's a nice day with lots of animal interaction. Last time I was there we got a second day free if we came back within the next 7 days, and we did. My kids loved feeding and petting the dolphins, Kraken was really wild, and the shows are great. We loved the Clyde and Seamore(sp) show.

Hope you decide to do it. You won't regret it.

Re: Sea World....worth it?

I've only been to Sea World once. I was pretty little. But from what I remember, it was a very cool experience. Something cool to do at least once in your life time.

Re: Sea World....worth it?

We've been there twice now and that was enough for us. It was pretty cool: the Kraaken coaster alone is worth the trip, but I think we'll file Seaworld in the "been there, done that" file now.
