Gaylord Palms?

DH got a free night at Gaylord Palms for a trade show Jan 8 (I think!). We're trying to see if we can go up for a night or 2 before so we can hit the parks.

Anyone here been lately? I've never been...driven by it a lot...it's HUGE!!!

Any words of wisdom???

Re: Gaylord Palms?

I've been there, Barbara -- it IS huge. Not quite as huge as their sister property in Nashville, but still a whopper. There are all sorts of shops (Godiva, anyone? ) and eateries within the facility, so you don't even really have to leave the place if you don't want to. The steakhouse in the bayou area is nice, as is the large restaurant that's most centrally located (they had a tapas buffet as part of dinner service one night when I was there; quite yummy). Be prepared, though: it ain't cheap.

Re: Gaylord Palms?

If you are going for trade show, check and see if they are offering special convention rates.

When we have convention at WDW they offer good rates and will generally allow couple of days before and after at same rate.

Re: Gaylord Palms?

I have had two meetings there. One was last Aug, and it is a great place. I always look forward to staying there. I like it much better than the one in Nashville as it is just way to big. Nothing is cheap at the Palms, but no place that is at all nice in Orlando is. I love where it is as well nice for going to Disney or International Dr. Real easy to drive to and from the airport as well. Food is super, very good service as well. Your lucky they booked there. Have fun, stay over.

Re: Gaylord Palms?

Gaylord Palms, such an unfortunate name (childish snicker).
