Character Breakfast at IOA

Has anyone tried the Spiderman/The Cat in the Hat character breakfast at Island of Adventure? Is it worth waking up early for?

Re: Character Breakfast at IOA

I guess no one knows anything about it. I think my son will enjoy it because of Spiderman. But, since it looks I'll be the first to try it, I'll just have to tell you all about it when I return.

Re: Character Breakfast at IOA

We went to a couple of character meals at Universal. One was a lunch at Confisco Grill, the other was at the restaurant in the Hard Rock Hotel for dinner.

They are always changing the deal there. To which were you referring?

This breakfast is at Confisco Grille. And, it will include both SpiderMan and The Cat in the Hat.

Re: Character Breakfast at IOA

Well, as I've said, we've been to two character meals there and I think they do a very good job. Of course, Spiderman is a lot more fun cuz he talks to you. The ones I have seen were just wonderful with the kids, spending a lot of time with them, posing, making muscles, talking to them about their escapades, etc.

Cat in the Hat is like any of the other cartoon characters. Just silly and fun.

Thanks so much, ddoll. My son is going to love that. He just adores Spiderman.

Re: Character Breakfast at IOA

I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier. We did the Confisco Grill breakfast at IOA in August '05 and it had it's good points and bad. The bad was that there were only 4 characters, Spiderman, Cat in the Hat and Things 1 & 2. We went early (first seating) and the interaction was amazing, but that could be because it was not yet crowded. I have heard of it being so crowded that characters skip tables, but we did not find that to be the case. The characters spent a lot of time with the kids, and Spidey is very cool.

As far as the food goes, it was very basic breakfast. Eggs, waffles, etc. I really enjoy Chef Mickey's much more for the food. There is a much bigger variety on the buffet.

Re: Character Breakfast at IOA

Good to know. I think Spiderman, alone, will do it for my son. So, I'm fine with the lack of characters. As for the food, I may be a little disappointed. I'd hate to get up that early to not have a decent and tasty variety. And, I already have Chef Mickey's scheduled for my day at MK.

Re: Character Breakfast at IOA

My DH and DSs liked the characters here. They had a good time, but the food was rather....well...icky. I don't think I would do it again, but they did have a good time. The grinch even got my oldest...aka the grinch in training...to smile!
