Week-end Trip in late March - meal ideas?
As some of you may remember, I need to make a week-end non-park trip in late March for a cheerleading competition. I just bit the bullet and bought plane tickets - which I'm not happy about - $340 each - but I used travel rewards to get them for $75 total - was hoping to save the points, but we have no immediate need for them, so . . .
Anyway, I have a room (Hampton Inn outside Universal Studios - the competition is down the road at the convention center) and a rental car, so my next step is planning meals. Our hotel has a free breakfast (and an afternoon snack of cookies ) so we're mostly OK with that. I've also made a 10:00am ADR at 'Ohana for our last morning there (we'll be there Friday thru Monday). I think lunch will just be what's conventient at the convention center during the competition, except for the first afternoon. We'd like to have a nice lunch at Downtown Disney and we were thinking of Earle of Sandwich for that first day (our plane lands at 9:30am - we got the first flight our to get some WDW time at DTD). DD would also like to go to Margaritaville at City Walk (actually me too ), so that leaves us with two dinners to plan.DD has got a hankering to try sushi since she discovered she likes California rolls, and I LOVE sushi, so any recommendation in that direction would be good. And any other ideas are welcome!!!!

My husband had the sushi at California Grill at the Contemporary. He liked it! I am not a sushi fan so I did not try it. But he did.
Good Luck at the competition! |

Re: Week-end Trip in late March - meal ideas?
We love Wolfgang Puck Cafe...been to WDW twice this year, ate there 3 times altho dh wanted to shoot for 4, lol.
The Big Kahuna Roll is really great, I've gotten it all 3 times. They also have kids' sushi...from the Cali Roll to more non-traditional kiddie type sushi rolls with chicken fingers or something in them. My kids stick with the Cali Roll. And the calamari is great too. Dh is a pizza freak and always gets the fennel, sausage, and pepperoni pizza. I'm not a pizza fan, but it is really good. Anywho, if its sushi you want, I don't think you can go wrong at Puck's! |
