orlando airport hotel

Has anyone ever stayed overnight at a hotel at the airport? I know there is the one inside the airport (the rate is $300/night!), but I was wondering if there were any others within walking distance.

I am considering taking the late flight in, which would get us to Orlando at 11:30pm. By the time we would get to WDW it would be way late, so I thought it might be easier to stay at the airport and take the ME in the morning.

Re: orlando airport hotel

For three hundred a night, you could take the ME and stay at a value resort for the night for cheaper.

Re: orlando airport hotel

If you do want to stay near the airport, we've stayed at Courtyard by Marriott and it was really nice! The beds were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO comfortable! But honestly, I would do the ME and stay at a value and have them move my bags to main resort for the trip. (They'll move them for FREE!)

How far was the hotel from the airport? I sort of just want to land, get bags and sleep! We'll probably end up staying at the values for the 1st night, but I'm a little worried about ME taking a long time and DD being miserable since it will be so late. So..I thought I'd look into the airport hotels. thanks for the info!

Re: orlando airport hotel

Just check in at WDW instead. It's not a very long ride then you will not have to deal with packing up and checking out somewhere.

I absolutely WOULD NOT use the ME luggage tags though if you use ME. Otherwise it could be who knows when it shows up. Just pick up your luggage and take it to the bus.

I would also consider using Quicksilver for a late arrival. They are good people and it's REALLY nice to have someone waiting for you. They will have you at your hotel faster than dealing with ME, and you can book them one way or round trip. Fares are reasonable and service is good!

I just wish they were in Seattle for my Alaska cruise!

Bring PJ's and a change of clothes for the next day in your carry on and tell the check in CM's to hold your luggage until the morning so you aren't disturbed. Your room will be ready and you won't have to pack up again the next day when you go to leave...it will all ready be in your suitcase.

Re: orlando airport hotel

Id take ME and stay at a value. I believe it was like 20-30 minutes to get to the resort from the hotel but its better than spending that much money on a hotel room and then you have to factor in picking up luggage and catching a cab or hotel shuttle so it might take just as long as it would take to go wtih ME..

Re: orlando airport hotel

I think that ME must be used when you arrive- I don't think you could sleep at another hotel and take ME the next day. Similarly, if you check out on Thursday, for example, you can't take ME on Friday back to the airport.

I would also consider Quicksilver and a value resort. It will still cost less than a $300 stay at the airport hotel!
