Re: Best Pizza in Orlando?

Erin hit it right. Girodano's is the best pizza you can get anywhere!

3.1 miles west of the Maingate Entrance. Sits on the south (left) side of the road in the parking lot of a strip mall.

7866 W. IRLO BRONSON HWY. Kissimmee, FL

This is the third time we've agreed and haven't even had one disagreement. We haven't even teased each other.

We are so losing our touch.

I am so out of the Lombardi's loop.

Is it the world's best pizza?

Last week I craved Krispy Creme Donuts now I am craving Jersey shore pizza. This site is not good for the diet I am on so I can look good in a lounge chair at AKL in July.

Re: Best Pizza in Orlando?

I've finally got a few good pizzerias in my neighborhood, so I really don't feel any pressure to look for a good NY style pizza in Orlando.
I don't like assembly line pizzas, so Domino's, Pizza Hut, and Papa Johns are, of course, all out!
I think I'm half tempted to try the pizza from the Boardwalk pizza window/Spoodles sometime, but it's not high on my to do list.
I think I'd agree with Giordano's provisionally. The provisions being you want Chicago style pizza and that it be totally on par with any Chicagoland location.
Final provision is they deliver to my Disney resort, which I think they won't do for any MK area resort, and probably not the Epcot resorts either. So, if I'm going to have to drive out that far, I'll go to Steak and Shake instead.

But that's just me.

I don't know about Shore pizza my dear. Some of the worst pizzas I've ever had was on the boardwalks in Asbury, Seaside, Pt. Pleasant, and Wildwood.
Unless they've made quantum leaps in quality since the 70's.

I've got a couple decent places here in Coral Springs, if you feel like traveling 35 minutes for a pizza.
Bagels? I don't think I remember what a real fresh bagel tastes like from that place in Passaic we used to get them from in the middle of the night. It's been a good 26 years!

Re: Best Pizza in Orlando?

I just looked at Gioradno's web site and they've got a second location on Vineland-Apopka Rd near the other main entrance.
I might have to consider ordering a pizza to take home next time we're up.

Re: Best Pizza in Orlando?

Erin, we had a Giordano's pizza delivered to our motel when we went to Six Flags Great America in Gurnee (it's outside Chicago). It was good, though I'm not a deep dish fan. I think they had chunks of tomato, not just sauce, which I'm not a fan of, but I didn't know. I'm sure they have a chunk free sauce for complainers like me.

They have flat pizzas, too! I like deep dish, though.

It IS! Lombardi's Pizza Gennaro's Original Gennaro's Caffe

It's truly spectacular, New York style (i.e. THIN) pizza. They started as a hole-in-the-wall restaurant with a brick pizza oven and have pretty much bought the whole block to expand, but you STILL can't get a table without a huge wait on the weekends.
