Re: Best Pizza in Orlando?

We actually have a great Pizza place here in Cape Coral, the name is NY NY pizza. DH is from Chicago so he likes deep dish. We have a Pizzeria Uno here in Cape Coral too. However, not really a fan.

I don't like assembly line pizzas, so Domino's, Pizza Hut, and Papa Johns are, of course, all out!
I think I'm half tempted to try the pizza from the Boardwalk pizza window/Spoodles sometime, but it's not high on my to do list.
I think I'd agree with Giordano's provisionally. The provisions being you want Chicago style pizza and that it be totally on par with any Chicagoland location.
Final provision is they deliver to my Disney resort, which I think they won't do for any MK area resort, and probably not the Epcot resorts either. So, if I'm going to have to drive out that far, I'll go to Steak and Shake instead.

But that's just me.
Thanks for the insight, SG!! In ref to your other post, I'm not a huge deep dish or tomato-ey chunks fan myself, so I'll take Erin's word that they'll do thin crust.

The thin crust is wonderful at Giordano's.

Of course, after I posted this I discovered they have two, the other one is on 535- Vineland/Apopka Rd about a half mile from Hotel Row and The Crossings, in the same general shopping strip as Steak and Shake. (I think they've opened really recently)

They also have a really super great avacado salad, which is what I ate last time I was there. It was good.

Added to the "going home" plan and now alongside "stop at House of Blues for take out order of red beans and rice" is "call Giordano's and order a flat shrimp pizza and a Chicago cheese and sausage pizza to take home".
Three visits in a row, I haven't found the time to stop at HoB. Maybe if I force myself, it'll get done next trip.
We have neither an HoB or Giordano's any closer than Lake Buena Vista.

It's truly spectacular, New York style (i.e. THIN) pizza. They started as a hole-in-the-wall restaurant with a brick pizza oven and have pretty much bought the whole block to expand, but you STILL can't get a table without a huge wait on the weekends.
You lost me at "New York style."

My heart still aches when I think of HoB, because I didn't get to go to the Blue October concert that was there last Fall.

I may never be the same, really. It causes me a great deal of sadness just to be in the general area knowing that I could of been at that concert, could of met Justin Furstenfeld and could of sang along to every song and didn't go.

I really wish I woulda went.

We don't have any HoB or Giordano's any closer than those, either.

Re: Best Pizza in Orlando?

If you're from the NY or NJ area (or even Chicago for that matter!) then NO pizza at WDW or Orlando in general will do. Not even Giordannos...sorry, we went there last trip and thought it wasn't that great . We ordered chicken in ours and it tasted like it was boiled. Obviously, it put a bad taste in my mouth.

I will admit that I've wondered how/why they have a branch so far from Chicago. Outside of Chicagoland, you can't even find them in Illinois.

That's because you like "Chicago style".
I've been taking pains not to go there. Too bad you just decided to break the cease fire.
