Hi all! I will not be staying on property for my next trip. I need advise on a hotel choice for offsite that is $60 or cheaper. I have stayed at the best western lakeside and loved it but the rates are $100. It will only be me and 3 kids so we dont need anything fancy. We will be checking in 12-26 middle of night and leaving 1-2-09

It's going to be hard that time of year with everyone heading to WDW and Florida...finding cheaper is going to mean lowering your standards on quality. I highly recommend hotels.com. They are a great resource for quality hotels rooms.

Thanks Dana.. I have been on there ALL DAY!!! I think I may just go with the Best Western Lake Side because I know what to expect.

So Im in the process of looking for an offsite hotel/motel for 12-27 1/2
So I stumbled upon motel 6. So I called the Kissimmee west location and the rep by the name of Juan quoted me $203.84 for 6 nights. Right away (after looking at the reviews on trip advisor) took the deal and gave a Pre paid cc number over the phone. I never give my real CC info over the phone when booking at a place like this. (im a bill collector and hear fraud stories ALL THE TIME) so the guy swore up and down that it will only be $203.84 which I thought was really really cheap.
SO I was thinking about the conversation and something didnt sit right with me. So I called central reservations and they advised me that it would be $380.74
So I was upset and called Juan back. He asked that I called back in 20 minuted because the lobby was full of customers.
SO I called back and he said that he did quote me a wrong rate but he had to "doc the notes" and they will honor the $203.84 when I check in. '
I didnt trust him at this point so I told him to cancel it. Then I thought about it and Im kinda on a budget because I want to have the most money for Disney and not hotels so I kept it. I asked if I called in a month they will still tell me that they see the notes and it will only be $203.84
I do not want to be "beat" when I get there and then not be able to find anything.
What should I do? Check back in a few days and have someone read the notes to me?? I map quested this place and its only 6.2 minutes to Disney

I would honestly just find a new place completely. Obviously Orlando is overflowing with affordable places to stay. Any place that has already caused you inconsistancy problems should just be avoided.

ummm, in your other thread it says that you made ressies at Howard Johnson. Which is it?

I personally wouldn't stay there and would most definately call back and tell the general manager.

I canceled the HOJO because I booked at the wrong one. I thought it was the one that I read great things about on trip advisor but my stupid mistake it wasnt so I was calling around to get best price..

Have you called WDW? I got a $99/night room rate at CSR for the week BEFORE Xmas. The CM was booking me at POP, when she checked her system for discount offers and found it . . . maybe call and ask? Would save you some hassle of staying off-site!

I have had "wrong" rates given and honored. The person at the site often can give you a better deal than the reservations line. What you need is a confirmation with the rate. They should email that to you. If you have it in hand then I would be fine with it.

I have called Disney today over 10 times. There isnt anything for the week but villas and Im not looking to spend $3000 on this. I will keep trying to call and see if any values are offered

I do have a cfm number. I asked for an Email and they said that they dont do that. I will try calling on Tuesday to see if I can get someone else on the phone that will tell me the price I want to hear. If not back to square one

Give it a few days and try again . . . people cancel all the time!

Maybe the week before isn't as busy as the week after, cuz they told me the rate was good cuz the resort was only half filled?

I just went to WDW site and they offered Port Orleans FQ and Riverside for $1338 room only. I think the week Im going is the most expensive. Besides.. I already purchased my ticket athe Disney Store so I wouldnt be able to get on a plan with DDP Im still looking foward to a great vacation. Perhaps I can get into Best Western Lakeside with the magicard rate of $50 per night. I loved that hotel. Very nice and clean

We've had GREAT luck at the TraveLodge Orange in Kissimmee offsite. Super cheap rates. You can even see all my pics on a recent 'trip report'.

It's nothing fancy, but it definitely fits the budget and gets you in Orlando for some fun.

Another place I found that I think I might try is called Seralago. It's the same type of deal. Super cheap, nothing fancy, but the price is right and they're trying to redo the rooms, etc. to make it nicer.

I can say with certainty that the TraveLodge met our needs. The beds were comfy enough, the rooms were clean, the grounds were clean, the pool was fun and there wasn't excessive noise at night.
