Re: Combo Trip

We're staying on site at the Polynesian for our entire stay but we rented a car because in the middle of our disney trip we are going to go to Universal and/or Seaworld. So we start in Disney and end in Disney...you'll still have fun alone. My mother has traveled alone & she loves it.

Re: Combo Trip

Welcome to MB! Every trip we combine time at Disney and Universal. I agree with Ddoll and E&B'sMom that you should definitely do Universal last. I highly recommend staying onsite at Universal. We feel so relaxed when we head home because the Universal part of the trip is way more relaxing than the Disney part of our trip due to the front of the line access that we get by staying onsite. Last Christmas we returned our rental car when we arrived at Universal and needed a way to the airport from the Hard Rock. We used Mears towncar service--which was the cheapest of all the services in the area for a one-way trip to the airport. Our driver was awesome and made room for all of our lugguage despite the fact that we really had WAY too much!

Re: Combo Trip

Hello and welcome. While I have never stayed at a Universal resort I have done many combo trips and I would recommend Disney last. If you are a die hard Disney lover then I would savor the magic for last. We love Universal and everything they have to offer but staying at a Disney resort and enjoying things like EMH is incredible after spending time at Universal. Going to Disney after Universal feels like you’re putting the frosting on your trip and you go home with that Disney magic feeling and you can't wait to plan your next trip.

I think Mears does it for 15$/day that's about the same as close parking isn't it? I still want to do Universal first and then really cherish the Disney part. Also if I stay on WDW on site I'll get magic express both ways!

Welcome to MB!!!!

I was going to suggest to you to stay on WDW property for your entire trip!!
You can rent a car for a few days that you will be visiting Universal (I usually rent a car staying on WDW property anyways), and you will get the Magical Express round trip!!! There are a few places you rent cars from from within WDW, Alamo happens to be my rental car of choice!

I too, plan to hop over to Univ. for 1 day and I have never thought of staying near Univ. before, I just love the WDW hotels too much!
