Halfway house

Hi,

I am wondering about a good hotel for a stay halfway between Milwaukee and the house of the Mouse. Any good suggestions? There will be 4 of us. DW, DS-9, and DD-6. We have never done the drive before. I understand it will be 2 days of travel both ways. I hope it won't be that bad.

Thanks

Tor2ga

Re: Halfway house

If you drive for about 10-12 hours the first day, stop somewhere around Chattanooga. But, if you do this, you won't arrive in WDW until something like 6-7 PM assuming a 9 AM start.

For the return trip, you could stop again in Chattanooga, but your second day will be a little longer or you could drive on and stop between Murfreesboro and Nashville.

Re: Halfway house

If you have questions about Chattanooga, and or any where between there and Atlanta, please feel free to pm me. I drive this ALL the time. From Chattanooga, you are looking at about 10 hours (assuming stopping to eat once), but from Atlanta, you are looking at about 8 hours. (both are plus or minus 30 minutes). We live about 30 minutes north of Atlanta, and it takes us about 7 1/2 hours. It is a very easy drive once you get through Atlanta (I can give tips on this too)... Let me know if you have questions...

Chattanooga is exactly what I was going to suggest, only because that's where we stayed when we drove from Racine to St. Augustine a long time ago and it worked out perfect for us.

We love Chattanooga! I also thought this would be a totally different subject, hence the name halfway house...

www.tripadvisor.com is a great website to search any city, hotel, restaurant

LOL Halfway House.

I love Nashville! It's so fun, with such great nightlife and delicious food. You could have a blast staying overnight there, if you are planning on entertaining yourselves a bit thile there.

I hope you like to drive. We drove to Disney 2001,2003,2005,2006,2007 and 2008, we are looking for airfare for 2009 it is a long drive and we are only coming from New Jersey. We drive straight through and only stop for naps at the rest stops. It's 1000 miles each way, it takes us between 15-17 hrs. depending on the weather. This year we ran into hurricane fay. It was a nightmare. Please don't think I am being negative, it's all worth it when you go through the gate that says Welcome to Walt Disney World. We are now at the point of knowing all of I95 between NJ and Fl. The drive is getting boring and hope we will be flying next year.
