Gaylord Palms
If you have the budget, the new Gaylord Palms resort a wonderful place to stay! Though it may not be on site of Disney, it has a lot to offer. It has 3 very well themed areas and the theming of the area goes along with the room. There's the Everglades, Saint Augustine, and Key West. I've stayed there once in the Everglades and loved it. We stayed there around Christmas time and hardly anyone was there. We even got a room with a balcony overlooking the "Everglades". The section is complete with little mini-rivers running through it and there is fog and sound effects of the real thing. The section is also complete with fake crocs. The next section, Saint Augustine is the main area. It includes a "fort" type area and a small "cave" that includes a talking, but not moving statue of Ponce de Leon. This area is also home to many food places, shops, and bars. The next section Key West is my absolute favorite. It has a mini ocean that is crystal clear light blue complete with waves. In the ocean is the SS. Gaylord that includes a bar. Key West also is home to shops that sell very unique gifts.
So if you have the money, this 5 star hotel is a great place to come home to after a long day at the parks!!! You can also get some pretty good deals online.

This is one of our top to-do outside Disney Resorts (the others being Hard Rock and Portifino Bay). I did some research on it and it is amazing looking. It's just outside the gates to Disney, slightly farther than the Pop Century, right?
Did they have shuttles to the Disney parks?

My sister in law works at the spa at Gaylord and the resort is fantastic. It's really beautiful and has a nice pool and shopping area. The prices do tend to be expensive and then I believe there is an extra $10 "resort" fee. But if you are looking for luxury it might be worth it. It's also extremely close to Disney.

When we went to the Gaylord Hotels sponsered Music City Bowl they gave out brochures on this and also had a booth set up in the mall by the Opryland Hotel which they own. Looked mind blowing! The Opryland also has a river going through it with boat rides. It is a beautiful place too!

OMG!!! Disnatic!!!! Thank you SOOOO much for posting those pix!!! I grew up in Nashville with the beauty of Opryland Hotels (Gaylord) and was very curious if they had continued the beauty to Gaylord Palms. Obviously, they have! They are also building in Texas I think...
The rack rate on these rooms are $269 for a double but some folks are getting it on Priceline for $75. Hmmm..... ![]()
