Universal studios vs. Islands of adventure

Does anybody know if Universal still offers the single day ticket with the combo of both parks? And is that possible to get through both parks in one day? We will be there next week and only have one day for Universal with the rest dedicated to WDW!:) Our kids are 13,9 and 5 so we won't have any toddlers. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks

Right now, they only sell one day one park passes. You can purchase a two day two park pass, but that is it.

With little kids, go for Universal Studios. They do have some big people rides, but also a bunch of rides all your kids can do, plus all the Nikelodeon stuff. Islands of Adventure is fun, but you really have to be about 10 and older to enjoy it. If you have younger kids, there are only about 5 rides they younger ones can go on, so you would be done pretty quickly.

Hmmm... we went this past October and we were very disappointed with Universal... I think if I were you I would try a day Sea World...

However, we went to Universal Hollywood about 6 months prior and we were expecting the same quality... did not find it at all. Had we not been to Universal Hollywood we may have enjoyed Universal Florida better. I could not beleive the difference in quality in the two parks!

I would love to go to Sea World but unfortunately gave the choice to our kids and they picked Universal of course due to Nickelodeon I'm sure. We were told by my sister not to miss the Hulk roller coaster but if Islands of Adventure only has 5 rides for the smaller kids we'll probably pick Universal instead. Wish we had the time for all but are concentrating our time at WDW. Thanks for tips!

We too have a 5 yr old and opted for Universal over IOA for that very reason... If she/he likes characters they come out and the Barney show is okay...if he/she likes Barney... that was a highlight for our DD... We did get to go on a taping of one of the Nic shows, but it is now off the air... You may have the opportunity to do that for one of the newer shows... It took up about 2 hours of our day...
