On Property vs. Hotel Blvd.

Alright, I know what everyone's answer is going to be, but I'll ask anyway. ;)

Has anyone stayed on Hotel Blvd. recently? When we went in 1991 and 1995, staying in the TraveLodge (now the Best Western) was very much like staying on-site. Excellent WDW transportation coverage and walking distance to DTD, which is also the location of our favorite restaurant.

I'm thinking about Halloween. I can get 4 nights at the Doubletree with a suite for about the same price as two rooms at the All-Stars or Pop Century. If can finagle my way into a reduced price for annual passes (see one of my other threads), I might do ok.

Any opinions?

We stayed at Best Western last October just before Halloween. I usually prefer staying on site, but this was a special trip for the 999 Happy Haunts event so we saved a little on the hotel in order to spend more on exclusive merchandise.

I think it would depend on a couple of things. Will you be driving a car so you don't have to rely on the Hotel Blvd transportation? If so, I would give it serious consideration.

Also, don't forget that if you buy an AP, parking is free at the parks.

However, if you really want the Disney magic, then on site is the only way to go.

hmmmm.. interesting.

I don't drive when I'm down there. When I'm on vacation, I like to have the freedom to order a bottle of wine with dinner and maybe have a drink after.

So the hotel buses aren't that reliable?

I agree with the Disney magic, but the room is just a place to crash....

One thing that we always consider (when deciding between to rooms or one suite) is how many bathrooms will be available. I am constantly accused of taking forever getting ready, so the idea of having more than one shower is important to us.

There are my two cents....

Party on,
Laura

Ding, Ding!! You get the prize for bringing up the one point I hadn't considered.
We had 2 rooms at ASSports last year, and between myself, my wife, the 11 yo son and 7 yo daughter, some mornings it was tough with 2 bathrooms. 1 would have been impossible.

THANKS! ;)

Unless the transportation has improved since I stayed at the Hilton in 2001 for a long weekend I would recommend on site.
There was then only one bus for all the hotels and even if you got a seat you waited at every hotel for 5 mins. for riders. Then when you got to the park they let you off the bus in the middle of the parking lot furthest away from the entrances. Never again for me even if for only a long weekend. Joe
