Icon7 Fought it long enough, I'm going to start planning again!

Okay, I've fought the urge long enough I'm going to start some of the planning for our October 2005 trip. THis is going to be a HUGE DEAL! We are going to celebrate my DD's 5th birthday and I want it to be AWESOME. As of right now the cast will include:
Me My Mom My Aunt
DH My Dad My Uncle
DD My Sister Their 2 grandkids (ages 5 & 3 at travel)

We are hoping we will have a baby in tow too!

Anyway, We are thinking about flying (this will be mine and my mom's first time on a plane). So how expensive is it to rent a limo from the airport? Would 1 limo hold all 12 of us??? How many can a limo hold? My cousins the parents of the 2 other kids may go to so I want to be prepared. I think Emilie and Cameron would get a kick out of the limo.

Thanks for your help!!

For transfers, go with a van. The cost will be not much more than a town car, and much better than a limo. You are probably looking at about $125 round trip.

Good idea planning now for a big group.

Re: Fought it long enough, I'm going to start planning again!

The Limo's will hold only 10 people . We have not used Quick Silver, who is a sponser of DC , but we have used Tiffany Town Car in the past and again this weekend They are very comperable to Quick Silver from what I have heard. The only problem that you might have with a large party is with luggage....... The limo will only hold about as much luggage as a Lincoln Town car....... Check out the link to Quick Silver on the home page or look up Tiffany Town Car. Good luck with your reservations...

Re: Fought it long enough, I'm going to start planning again!

Thanks mickey & timsha. I had not even taken into consideration the luggage!!! We will probably have alot due to the age of the kids and possibly having a baby in tow. So can the van handle all the luggage? How many people can a van hold? OH MY GOSH this is a new world for me thinking about flying!!!!

The van will hold more luggage than the Town car / Limo. I think that they also will hold 10 people, so you may need to get 2 vans, but as Mickey pointed out, you could get 2 vans for the price of 1 Limo..... not as nice, but very economical!!!

Re: Fought it long enough, I'm going to start planning again!

As timsha said, the van will hold 10 plus all their luggage. We had 29 people in 3 vans, plus all our luggage for the cruise and a week at WDW, and it fit no problem. If you end up with more than 10, you can get a van and a towncar.

With 12 people you might want to check out Disneys Magical Gathering

Re: Fought it long enough, I'm going to start planning again!

We went in April and there were 14 people in our party. We used a limo service. They used a 15 (14 people plus the driver = 15) person van plus a trailer for our luggage. The trailer was very big and we thought that everyone would be cramped in the van but this was not so. We had three "big sized" people and there was plenty of room. The service was very good and it was only $150 for round trip. If you want I can PM you the information of who we used, I'm not sure if I shoud post it here!

kphil89,
Yeah I'm trying to tell you something. DH and I are currently "trying" to get pregnant. It took me 4 months last time to get pregnant and we have been trying for 2 so far this time. I will let you all know when I'm actually carring my second mousketeer!

disneyjenny,
Please PM with the info. That would be awesome!

Thanks y'all!!

Re: Fought it long enough, I'm going to start planning again!

I noticed in another thread that you mentioned how excited your little one would be to see the electrical water parade.

Here is something really cool that you might want to consider.

Since there are more than 8 of you going, you can do a "magical gatherings" event.

The "Wishes Fireworks Voyage" is awesome! They start you out at the contemporary and with a full spread of yummy food (snacks) and time to meet Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. Then your pirate/comidian/entertainer for the evening wisks you away to your "ship" and takes you on a voyage in Seven Seas Lagoon. He has games, stories and you get a VERY close personal showing of the electrical water parade (just a few yards away from you!) Then the boat stops right in front of the train station and Wishes starts. (they pipe the music in so you can get the true wishes experience).

After wishes is over they take you back to the boat dock for a meeting with peter pan! They also give the kids a copy of the Peter Pan II book which peter will autograph for you.

It was one of the best experiences we've ever had at WDW and well worth the money (which by the way is the least expensive of all the magical gatherings events.)
