Just got a great car rental rate from Alamo!
We are renting a full-size car for $179 + tax which works out to $229! I had been quoted as much as $450 for a full-size from other companies.
 Compacts and economies are going for $149 and intermediates $169. Not bad!I will continue to look for less expensive rates as our trip approaches and cancel if necessary but this is looking good!!!

With codes from MouseSavers, we got a full size from Budget for $180, including taxes. Then, there's a $20 off coupon on top of that. So, a full size for about $160, for 8 days. I know the coupon expires 12/31, but I think the codes are good after that.

I know you are leaving soon but do you have those handy? I couldn't find anything on mousesavers for budget during my dates. (The codes all seem to expire around Thanksgiving - I can't find anything valid over Christmas except the coupon.)

Check l& m they are online and I found they were lower than the others. and there is a 10.00 coupon off of the rate if youbook online

Thanks for the suggestion Cindy. I did look at L&M but they were $240 (compact) for my dates. Also, I read something on mousesavers about that being the agency they receive the most complaints about.

Interesting. You probably are going during a busy time. My full size car is 160 including tax for a week but I am going this month and it is a slow time.

Just to add to this... I went to mousesavers.com and used all the rate codes and info found there, on several rental sites. I had even been watching L&M. This was all for a mini-van. I saw rates from $720(believe that?), $480, $470, $450...down to about $420 for the week. I ended up going to Alamo, using a web rate, plus an Entertainment Card coupon id, and got it for $277 total (including the 2 extra hours I need, and all fees). This is for October.
Anyone get lower than $277 for a mini-van, please let me know! ;o)

There is also a web site www.bookingbuddy.com that you can check out. there you can enter your information once and search several different places (Orbitz, Expedia, etc.) without having to re-inter the information over and over. They also have airlines and hotels search engines. A quick search found that on Orbitz you can book a full size car for your dates at Payless Rental for $182, including tax and fees. When I go to WDW, I check out this site a bunch of times, because prices go up and down.
We rented at Payless once, a couple of years ago, and had no complaints. Hope this helps. Have fun on your trip!
