How long?

How long would you say that it would take to get from plane door to room door? We will be using Quicksilver, I would guestimate 30 minutes to get from plane door to car door, but around 715PM how long should I plan for check-in at POFQ, and how long to make it to the CR? AAAAhhhh too many variables!!!

Re: How long?

Disneyguy -

I have used a towncar for my last two trips and I always give myself an hour and a half to get there after collecting my luggage etc. It has taken as little as 45 min for everything, but I just assume the worse and go with 1 hour and a half. I feel rushed if I don't allow enough time for something. I hate feeling rushed. Don't schedule anything in that time frame. You will have to wait for your luggage, drive there and then go through check-in. Why put yourself through that. You're on vacation.

Yeah, I am thinking about doing a late PS for Chef Mickey's that night. It is such a great way to kick a trip off!

Re: How long?

Yes, it's the perfect way to start off if you don't plan on hitting a park. Just be sure to give yourself enough time to get settled.

Well our flight arrives at 615, and I plan on getting a 9PM PS at Chef Mickey's. I am just worried about getting there, I can see it now. DM will be " I am not paying for a cab when we have Disney transportation.", and then we will end up being too late.

I have a better idea. Why don't you keep my driver waiting till you check-in, and have him take you to your dinner??? Did you schedule a grocery stop? If not, I'd trade it for the 30 minutes wait to take you to the Contemporary...

What do you think?? Can you check-in and get ready in 30?

Let me know...

Regards,

Gregory Nicolas.

Yes, this is an idea too. This is a serious budget trip. So part of that money saving plan was to make a grocery stop, but maybe we could bring pop tarts, muffins, etc. from home. I am pretty sure that if I could check-in in 20 minutes at Pop Cnetury, then I have a feeling POFQ can handle it. I would just leave our stuff at guest relations. Could we possibly pay for the extra quick ride to the Contemporary?

Yes, LOL... I cannot believe more people didn't know. I am planning this trip for my family. I get really into it, and tend to over-plan. My mom knows a lot about Disney, but not nearly as much as me. It makes it really interesting sometimes...

Re: How long?

Disneyguy you should drive if you want to save money. Pete and I save hundreds by driving. We have a gas-efficient car, though, and if you stop in Santee, SC at the Hampton Inn, it's a great, safe community, nice room, and it's only $70 for the two of us (weekend rate, too!).

The other plus about driving is that you go straight from 95 to I 4 and then right to your resort. No waiting, no baggage claim, no delays at the airport. You go on your own schedule.
