New Disney Buses

Disney recently purchased a new series of buses and have already started to take delivery of them, I saw they were out in service today. They are a Low Floor bus meaning there are no steps to get in the bus. I have not been in one of the new disney buses but I have been in that particular model of bus and it is slightly different proably the most noticeble change is the steps behind the rear door to get to the rear seats. this should mean there will be more buses around and with the opening of POP and Saratoga this is something disney needed.

Awesome! More busses means less waiting to me.

Wow, that's great. And the low floor means easier to get on for the elderly, disabled and pack mules like me who are carring a back-pack umbrella stroller and usually a kid asleep on one shoulder!

Re: New Disney Buses

Well I hope these have more seats, I noticed some of the Disney buses have more seats while the others have more standing room, so they can pack you in like cattle. I've got my fingers crossed for more seats.

Re: New Disney Buses

I have to agree, the low busses would be great, especially with kids & strollers!

That is great!!! I have ridden on similar busses, that operate in the Philly airport and they can hold A LOT of people. Maybe even a few more than the current busses. However, I think that there are fewer seats on this bus. These new busses also will probably be easier for people using a wheelchair, because I believe they have kneeling stairs, and can come to almost curb level.

The reason for that is to aomdate handicap passengers and you loose the space over the wheelwell in a low floor bus. my guess is these buses will have a similar layout to the current Nova low floor buses at wdw.

Its a one step operation, there really are no steps you just have to step onto the floors and that is about it. the wheelchair ramps on these buses will be a system disney has never used before but we have them on a few buses where I work and they are the best wheel cahir lift ever. event if the lift fails and I have never seen it happen yet on this style of lift a bus operator can manually deploy the lift with minimal effort, the whole ramp weighs about 15 lbs.
