Prestige Towncars?
Does anyone know anything about Prestige Towncars? I just booked them for our January trip, but I haven't heard hardly anything about them. I know some of the companies charge more to deliver you to the Magic Kingdom resorts (we're staying at Wilderness Lodge), but Prestige just charges $80.00 for all WDW resorts and have a 30 minute grocery stop. It's posted on their site that they charge no airport or park fees. Tiffany charges $95.00 ($87.00 with Passporter coupon), but I've read several bad reports about them lately. I've read good things about Quick Silver, but their fees are $100.00. The few things I've read about Prestige have all been good (including several reports that people got free upgrades to limos). You just hear more about Tiffany's and Quick Silver. Has anyone heard anything bad about Prestige? (They didn't even ask for my credit card--just said a driver would be waiting with a sign at baggage pickup and to pay him.) It's our first trip to WDW and I want everything to go smoothly. We are spending four nights at the WL and the last two nights at the AKL, so should I call the day before departure to remind Prestige that they will need to pick us up at a different hotel? Their site said the driver would confirm departure information, but I want to be sure.

Re: Prestige Towncars?
Any time I've booked limos anywhere, I always call the night before to confirm everything. But anything can still happen. In 2004 we had stayed for 5 days at Grand Californian and were transfering up to Magic Mountain. I picked a limo company out of the phone book and all seemed well. We were then rewarded by the limo arriving 1 hour late with an excuse that he'd had a flat tire, then expected full fare. I told the driver/owner (great, a one car company) I had no intention of paying full price for what was now 2 hours, compunded by the fact that we were over an hour late for park opening at Magic Mountain, meaning we only rode X once. Needless to say, he didn't get full payment and no tip. Moral of the story, caveat emptor, buyer beware. I should have let Disney set it up for me. They did such a good job finding a stretch to pick us up at LAX on the night of the Emmys, I don't know why I felt compelled to save a few bucks.

Re: Prestige Towncars?
I used them over Thanksgiving weekend and they were AWESOME. Bruce was our driver and he was friendly, knowledgable, professional... I know how you feel, though. I had just read one (positive) review for them when I booked mine and was a little anxious. No worries!! They're great.

Re: Prestige Towncars?
Thanks so much for you replies. I posted this same question on another forum and got several reviews all saying they were great (not one single bad report). The funny thing is every single one of them recommended a driver named Raphael. Yesterday when I really looked at the e-mail Prestige had sent me, I noticed they had the correct flight and had me going to WL, and the correct departure date, but didn't say anything about departing from a different resort. I thought this would be a good excuse to talk to a real person and would give me a chance to see if I could request Raphael (since I'd read all good reports about him). Would you believe Raphael answered the phone.
I asked him about the departure hotel and he assured me it was in the ressie, just didn't come out on the e-mail. With him answering the phone, I didn't know how to request him for a driver. I'm glad to see another driver got a good review finally. |

Re: Prestige Towncars?
Sounds like Gregory has himself some quality competition. I actually think that's a good thing.
I'm hoping that there will be more and more of this: smaller companies with a good understanding of what "Customer Service" actually means. Combine that with "random acts of kindness" and I think the lustre of Disney's magic will be all shiny again. ![]()
