airtran down to $69 on way

As I predicted, Airtran has dropped their rates to compete with Soutwest. Southwest opened up travel dates up to 10/28 and is charging $79 one way. Airtran is offering the same flgihts for $69. Got to love the air fare wars.

Good for you, Dana! I am happy you waited and got an even lower price. I thought $79 was a great fare and about hte lowest you could get but Airtran beat it. Congrats!!

I already booked SW for my August trip. $79 one way. I hope that if they go down they will credit me the difference. Last year we went for $49 but the way gas prices are.....

Cheapest I can find currently is $316 for the end of Sept. That isnt even SW there are $169 each way!!!! Patience is a virtue.

Keep watching and be patient. Do you have SW's DING downloaded? We saved a lot (about $100 RT) booking our air through that account.

I got it from their website. The price to fly out on 10/26 and return on 11/2 is $69 for some flights and $99 for prime time flights. I had some decent picks fortimes...not to shabby. The return flight was a different story. The only option for a $69 price was for really early in the morning. I may book southwest coming home for the $79 when they open those dates.

We booked our airfare back in Jan for our July trip and got one way for $49.00 from PHL to MCO!! We could have gotten them both for 49. but we needed to come back on a different day!!
