Ok, today I received a Fedex letter from Disney that contained luggage tags for the Magical Express. Funny thing is, I never signed up for it!!Talk about magical!

LOL That is Magical! What a mess, people who need them can't get them but Disney is sending them out to people who didn't sign up. I hope this is all worked out soon.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. I feel bad for all the folks who were waiting for tags and didn't receive them in time.

It sounded like things were getting better with the service though. Recent reviews sound better than the early ones.

You are right. We are using DME in July and I have been following the reviews on several sites and the reviews are getting better every week. People are getting to their resort in 1-2 hours (in many cases less than an hour) and luggage in arriving shortly after that. I think I am nuts because I am excited to try this.

Not nuts, just smart, really, because its about $100.00 savings if you use it instead of a car service. I am torn now. I don't know what to do. I will call Disney and see if we really are in the system or if it was a mistake.

I would make the call and see what's up. Who knows, all you might have to do is give your flight infomation and you are set up.

We received our tags the day before we left (last month). Our Magical express experience was great going there and a little nerve-wracking comingback.

We landed at Orlando International about 6 p.m., got through DMW check-in, got on the bus and were IN OUR ROOM at Riverside at exactly 5:53 p.m. Less than an hour - NO LIE! (Well, there was ONE minor snafu - the video playing onthe bus was the one for passengers LEAVING WDW to go home instead of the one to welcome folks just getting there, but that's the only thing...) We couldn't have gotten there faster if we'd rented a car! We had packed a change of clothes in our carry-ons, so we changed, took the boat to DTD, ate dinner at Planet Hollywood (our first-nite tradition) and shopped around a bit. When we got back to our room about 10 p.m., our luggage was in the room.

Going back, our bus pick-up from Polynesian (we moved mid-way through our 11-day stay) was about 45 minutes late. We were able to get our boarding pass printed for us at the Polynesian. They had sub-contracted out to a private bus company because demand was so high. Our driver got us there in time. But since we were on Southwest, we had to check our own luggage. That took about 45 minutes at the curbside.

Overall, though, I thought the DME experience went fairly smooth for us.

The reason we shied away from it was the return trip. We want to stay as late as we can the day we leave, and I wasn't sure how it would work out using Disney's transportation to the airport. I'm glad to hear it went relatively smoothly for you!

Our plane home left at 7:50 p.m. Our DME bus was scheduled to leave for the airport from Polynesian at 4 p.m. We finally left at 4:45 p.m. and still had plenty of time...

Wow Magical Express is REALLY good! Looks like you were able to travel back in time Just kidding of course, figured it was just a typo....Unless it's me that is reading it wrong. Glad to hear that it went well, I look forward to trying it out later this year

Well, since we're planning on doing our "Grocery Stop" on the way home to get sandwiches at Earl of Sandwich, we're going to skip DME this time around. Quicksilver for this trip.

But, our luggage tags came earlier in the week and even though we won't use the tags, we WILL use the pin redemption coupon. More stuff to trade for DD!!!
