OK, I have never flown before so I don't have a clue as to what to do when it is time to buy our airline tickets. I know it is far too early to be able to get them but when the time comes what are some things I need to make sure I do? Is it best to get them directly from the airline over the internet? Help please so I won't go crazy when the time comes

I think it has to be under 300 and some days to get the tickets. Some things you can do is to start pricing them now. Watch arifares closely and you will notice a trend with sales etc. I would sign up on each airline's websites. They will email you when they have airfare on sale for your destinations and trip times. Try travelocity, travel zoo and price line also. I would definately also sign up on airtran. com. When their prices drop or there is a fare sale, us airs also runs the same prices. It is always cheaper to go to the airline's site direct. You will save on handling fees. Just get the emails from the other sites to know when the sale fares are. Always buy directly from the airline...always.

I have been pricing ours for almost a year now. Almost every day I would check. I just bought ours directly from the airline. I signed up for all the websites to email me with lower fare alerts (ie. travelocity, orbitz, southwest, etc.) Once they would notify me of a lower rate I would also check the airline's website directly. Most of the time the airline's website posted lower rates, but at somes times they were way off!! Eventually, as I said, I bought mine through the airline's website directly....its easier, faster and usually cheaper. Always check first is my advice! Good Luck!
