changing flight times.

I am wanting to change my time for my flight home from disney. My flight is for 9am and we would have to take ME to the airport at around 6 or so. I have tried doing in online at us airs. com and the only way to change it is by changing both flight times...they want $200 for doing this. Is this a normal charge? The change costs more than one ticket....it's outrageous.

Re: changing flight times.

I think all airlines charge a fee for that. some more and some less. With NorthWest a few years ago I changed flight times to Europe and got dinked $50.00 per ticket.

Re: changing flight times.

southwest doesn't charge for the time change if the ticket price is the same. All the other airlines I am familiar with do charge a significant fee.

Re: changing flight times.

That sounds kind of high.
I know most will charge 25 to 50 dollars for the change.
I'd give them a call and see whats up.

Re: changing flight times.

I think if I only change the one time it will be cheaper, but the computer won't let me ironically it will only let me change both...hense the $200 charge instead of $100 charge. Maybe I will try and call them today or try changing it again for the one time.

I understand the charge, but don't want to change all our tickets, just two. It should be $100....won't work though.

Re: changing flight times.

Airlines IMO are just unwilling to help out there customers. I just recently had issues with changing a ticket with United.....well lets just say that I will not be a flying with them again. There customer service is ghastly.....they made me buy a whole new ticket without refunding the original .... well we have some issues ongoing now, but if possible I say keep your tickets they way they are.

Re: changing flight times.

Well I tried it again today and it's $200 whether I change both flights time or just one....I ma not paying more than the cost of a ticket to change my time coming home. I am keeping it as is....oh well I have learned a lesson about cheap airfare.

What airline are you on this time Dana?

I know with US Airways and most other carriers they want around 100 dollars to change your ticket. Its awfully expensive.

I am with us airways again. Yes, it's $200 total to change one time...more than what I paid for the actual round trip ticket. I'm not chaning it. I'll just have to go with what I got and learn a lesson. I refuse to pay that kind of money for something like a time change...ridiculous.

Re: changing flight times.

I believe that you do have the option to go and try and fly standby without paying the change fee, but I am not 100% on that. Plus with a young DD thats probably not a good plan.

Yes, you are right. Not a good idea on the stand-by with my DD. Especially since the time change I wanted is for a later flight...I woudln't want to take the chance of being stuck at the airport forever waiting for an available flight.
