Well, when Northwest Air announced that they were going into bankrutpcy protection, I was a bit nervous that they would be doing some things to cut costs. Now they've gone and cancelled our flight which was at the perfect time of day for us. They have moved us to another flight, but the time is NO good! We only went with them in the first place because we landed in early afternoon & made plans for the evening. My travel agent says we don't have to accept the proposed change and can cancel with them entirely because they have changed our flight by more than 2 hours. But this means looking into all the info for other airlines again. Sorry if I'm going on, I just wanted to rant I guess.

Call and see what other times they have available, sometimes there will be something other than what they gave you and you might like those times better!!

That just stinks! Start looking into other flights and find one that you want....then cancel. Don't bite your nose off to spite your face...get a good price and time first. Best of luck and please let me know how you make out.

I am so sorry, I know it's so frustrating. I have REALLY grown NOT to trust the airline industry and, unfortunately, I am always expecting the worst with delays and cancelations.
Anyway, if they cannot give you a time you are satisfied with don't accept the offer and look elsewhere. How soon are you leaving? If it is near or over a month away I am sure you can find a deal with another airline that is more reliable.

Keep us updated & don't stress yourself, it will work out!

OHHHH! Thats awful...I know exactly how you feel. I just found out yesterday that they changed our flights also. We have 2 different groups of family members on 2 different flights (because some were arriving later, but we were all to leave about the same time) One of airlines (Airtran) changed my moms return flight to leave 10 Hours later than ours!!!! What a nightmare! We are all arriving at the airport at the same time. I hope they will let us change or cancel too. Good luck to you, hope you find a decent flight...I'll be on the phone with the Airtran today, trying to do the same.

So sorry to hear that. We flew Northwest a couple of weeks ago and I was a little apprehensive that the same would happen to us. Luckily, it was fine.

I don't know where you are flying out of, but Airtran has decent prices, and they just started flying out of Detroit Metro.

When United changed my flight time, I called and told them that it was not acceptable and they offered me a much better time that let me arrive in Orlando 3 hours earlier than my original flight. I would definitely cal Northwest and tell them that the time they gave you is not acceptable. They will probably be able to get you on an earlier flight. I wish you the best of luck!

AA changed our flight times for our December trip. I didn't like the new times so I called them. They changed them again and now they are better than our original times. Sometimes it works out for the best! Let us know what happens.

Oh, don't tell me bad things about Airtran- that's who I am flying with this trip.....
