Has anyone ever rented from Dollar Rental Car at the Orlando airport? We got a great rate and the web site said it is located at the airport. Just wondering how far a walk it is to the rental car location?? I liked the idea of not having to take a shuttle to the rental location.

In December, we rented a car from Alamo for one day, but the counter is located right by the Dollar counter. All of the rental counters are on the same floor, on floor down from the baggage claim area. The cars are just across the street, and it took us about 2 minutes to walk over and find the car. Much better than going in a shuttle 10 minutes away, and then having to wait in line.

Thanks Mickey that was what I was hoping! We had to take a shuttle to Thrifty last time. Between the shuttle and the line there it ate up about 2 1/2 hours! :( Dollar sounds like a better choice!!

Dab, sorry about that. Now that I think about it we did rent from Dollar. They were quick and the cars were right outside the door, after you walk across the street. It took us maybe 5 minutes from walking up to the counter to getting out of the airport. Our car was nice too, though we had rented a convertable, and it was raining and cold so we didn't get to use it.

Sounds perfect! Ahh, I remember the old days when I would drive a convertible in the dead of winter... crank up the heater and look silly riding around with my girlfriends! With age comes great wisdom!! :laugh

For the past 2 years, we have rented through Dollar. They are in the terminal, and it did not take long to pick up or drop off the car!!We also got an incredible deal for a compact!! Last year we rented for a base rate of 124.99/wk. This year it is 134.99/wk.We visit relatives before we stay in Disney, and just keep the car for the remainder of the time.

Thanks MinnieMommie. I actually changed my reservation to National and thanks to Mousesavers I got a full size car for 5 days for only $85.80. I followed directions to get a free Emerald Club membership and was able to apply 3 different discount codes. I saved so much money!!!
