Allowed to park at hotels I'm not staying at?

Doing the rental car thing for the first time in May. I remember signs at the Beach Club prohibiting anyone from parking there unless they were staying there. Is this par for the course for monorail and Epcot resorts? Can I park there if we're eating there?

Also, is resort parking free?

Thanks, guys!

You can park at a resort if you are dining there. I think they give you a three hour pass or something like that. That being said, this topic always causes a fuss. Many people think it's ok to make a ADR and then cancel it when they get there and take the free parking. I am only going to say that you aren't suppose to do that.

Dana summed it up correctly and I agree with her final statement and will not be dragged into a debate about it. Yes resort parking is free as long as you are staying on property, be prepared to show a photo id at the resort like a drivers license. If you are going to dinner at a monorail resort you might just consider parking at the TTC if you plan to go to a park afterwords.

All this being said, if you're just dining at Epcot, parking at Boardwalk and going in the back way is okay and definitely the way to go.

Really? They let you park at the Boardwalk Inn to go to dinner in Epcot?

Re: Allowed to park at hotels I'm not staying at?

It's funny, every tip I've ever given about parking has always assumed you have a real reason to park at a different resort, not just wanting to park for free. If I don't need to drive my car, it stays parked. But if I have a real reason, like I'm going to the MK in the morning and early afternoon, and then at 4 my wife and I are splitting up so she can get a spa treatment at the GF and I can go to the Contemporary to rent a waverunner (it as part of the vacation package we had). Then I'm going to need to park at the Contemporary because at 4:45, when I finish with the waverunner, I'll have wet clothes and other stuff with me, and won't feel comfortable on the bus. Besides, I'm picking up my wife and then we're going back to the Beach, which you can't get to without changing buses at the TTC or getting a cab. (heww) It's not because I just HAVE to park as close to the main gate as I can.

The boardwalk is a entertainment center as well as a resort, when it gets busy you will have to prove you are staying at the resort to park in the lot in front of the resort, if your not staying there your welcome to park in a extra lot across the street. There are signs posted around the entrances to the boardwalk that say they are not able to provide parking for epcot and MGM.

Please note this was in the evening when we were going to Epcot to get dinner--I don't think I would try it at eight in the morning.
