Quicksilver sadness

Well - it does not look like we will be doing the quicksilver thing this time around. It is a lot more expensive for us since we are not sharing the cost this time. We would be spending over $400 for our transfers- or our option would be to do ME for the first and last and QS for the cruise part only- unfortunately its still more expensive that way by about $20 and we would have to do our own luggage thing (with 4 kids not a fun idea) If we do the disney shuttle they do the baggage for us. Such a dilemma since we thoroughly enjoyed our experiance the last time we used QS - DH even used them for his business trip to Orlando...

ME will get your luggage for you and it will bein your room waiting, if you have to wait to get in your room, we always end up having to check-in around 4 our room is never ready.

If your room is ready then they will still bring it to your room once it arrives.

I've seen the Cruise line buses pick up at the resort hotels.

My guess is that they reserve you on the cruise line bus instead of the airport transfer. Shouldn't be any problems.

Re: Quicksilver sadness

its not the problem that Im wondering- Im debating because we are talking $300 for transfers to and from the parks- But if I do the QS we will have to bring our own luggage to the room and if we do the disney one we wont- but we loved the personal service and the lack of wait time and the grocery stop of Quick Silver- I just have to figure out if that is worth paying more $$. I wish they had a "repeat guest discount" or AAA discount then it might make it easier.

Oh and here is another question- With the disney busses including ME are we expected to tip? Or is that included in the service?

The tipping question has come up before, I know we tipped, but can't remember how much.

Re: Quicksilver sadness

I wonder since you dont see your bags and they bring them to the rooms for you I dont know how you would manage that. I know that for our party size there is already a 20% gratuity included for the private service.

Re: Quicksilver sadness

We tipped our ME bus driver each time. The driver put our carry on bags on the bus and got them off and was very helpful each time so we tipped but not everyone does. I don't remember how much we tipped but I know it was more on the return since we had all of out luggage with us since we flew SWA.

Re: Quicksilver sadness

well here we go- I am calling the AAA office later this afternoon to book my bus ride from the parks to the boat and back- I just wanted to stop by this thread and see if there were any other tips-
I have a $50 voucher for AAA to use and if I book the one offered by Disney from the resorts to the boat and back I can use it. That makes it from $300 to $250 rt (half my airfare UGH!) I think that is terribly silly and very expensive to be honest! Its one car and one trip but because its a party of 6 its $300- that seems so wrong!

any last suggestions?

Re: Quicksilver sadness

Lets revise that.....
Im not sure now what Im doing as I just found out that I cant use my voucher now- UGH!!! Apparently Disney requires you to pay in full with a credit card at this point and I have to pay for Parker but not Drake. That makes it $300 again! And I dont know what times the bus picks up at the parks - so I am back to square one!!!
How irritating!

Re: Quicksilver sadness

Hello woohoo,

First of all thanks for considering us, it's always nice to have our past customers coming back.

Our Van round trip (WDW - Port - WDW) is $285.00 + 20% gratuity. Give me a call and I can offer you a special we are having for $10.00 off that type of reservation...

Another thing to consider is I believe the bus leaves at 1:00pm from WDW, not 100% sure though (maybe they have several departure times depending where from, but I heard not to long ago it was around 1:00pm). That said, you would arrive at approx. 2:30pm at the Port while we can have you there at around 12:00pm.

Well, whatever you decide I wish you the very best vacation!!!!

My best regards,

Gregory Nicolas.
