tricks for cheap rentals?

How do you get cheap rentals for your trip? Who is the cheapest? I only need an economy car...just me and DD. The lowest I got was $241. Is that the cheapest you can get for a 8 nights trip? I have no experience with renting, so I am asking you all to help me with this.

Re: tricks for cheap rentals?

Personally I rent every time. Last time I was able to get a trailblazer for 9 nights for $175.00 I only go with Alamo and National.
What I do is book early and then call once a week to see if the price drops and if so book that. Always ask for them to send u a cfm in the mail.

Last trip I called every week and the price was always Diff.
I also use coupons from Entertainment book. Also ask for a quote then after they give it to u tell them about any discounts.
Good luck.If u need help I will be happy to call and try to get u some quotes.

Re: tricks for cheap rentals?

We go for priceline.com. The last time we rented a car in Boulder, Co., we got an Escalade for $ 15.00 per day
I cannot remember the company but their logo is green background and white writing

Priceline is what I use...

But beware.

Learn what the going rate is first.

Try Expedia, and ask for the car type and duration of rental.

THEN go to Priceline and try to get a lower cost.

SOMETIMES, Expedia is cheaper...

By the way, Priceline has the "NAME YOUR OWN PRICE", which is the best way to get the cheapest rate..

Have you ever heard of E-Z rent a car? I just got a quote for $142.04!!! That's taxes fees and the whole shibang. The expeida price for the same rental company is $204.61...I guess it works like airfare...go the the offical site. I don't think I can beat $12.99 a day. They have airport pick up and drop off 24/7. What do you think? Should I grab it or wait?

GRAB IT! If you see a better price from a different company as your trip gets closer, you can ALWAYS cancel. Check the cancellation policy BEFORE you secure the ressie, though. Where did you find this fare? Was it through THEIR site or a travel site, like Expedia or Orbitz? I think you need to pay in advance on those sites, whereas with other rental sites you don't need to pay anything until you pick up your car.

I have been to WDW 14 times and have rented a car 12 out of the 14 times. I ALWAYS use MOUSESAVERS.com. They list TONS of codes on their site! I also use the codes from Costco and/or BJ's. Their prices tend to be the lowest! I got a mid size SUV (like a Blazer) for $141 ($167 INCLUDING tax) for 9 days, for my December trip. I have to cancel it, since we are DRIVING OUR OWN CAR DOWN NOW !

She's right, always check Mousesavers! I always seem to get the best rates when I use them. Also check out the entertainment book and sign up for emails from the different car rental companies too. I have found Alamo and Dollar to usually be the best. Good luck!
