Airline HELP!!!

We don't fly very often, but have never had this happen. I just checked on our flights on Delta and they have changed the flight numbers and departure times. Is this normal??? Our flight down was leaving at 10:20 am (perfect) now it leaves at like 6 am??Same with the flight on the way back.
Any advice ? Can I get a reund , look for another airline? Or would that be a big mistake at this point.

Would be gratefull for anything you can post here for advice.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Hello
I had the same problem with Delta last December. I just called them and told them that the new flights would not work and they checked their schedule and we changed it to more convenient times (for no fee). Good luck:)

We are flying ATA, and since I've made my flight reservations, our flight # has changed twice. I didn't mind the flight # changing so much , as I did when they cancelled our flight coming home to a much later time . Then , I was checking the flights on line, only to see our flight that we got bumped off, is now back. Well, ATA would have switched us back , but right now I just want to leave well enough alone. If they change it again, I think I will go back to my original time. I can live with them changing our flight #'s, but when they change the time by several hours, it upsets me, just a little. :( JOANN

Frontier does the same thing, but then are willing to work with us when we don't like the new arrangements. I think all the airlines are just really in flux right now.

We always take a flight between 6 and 6:30AM. It gives us the whole first day at WDW! But I can understand how this would upset some people!:)

Airlines change the flight schedules to different times at different times of the year. They are changing from a spring to a summer schedule because more people fly in the summer than the rest of the year except around holidays. They may have added more flights from where you live. The war also has airlines scrambling to adjust to less people flying.

The key is two fold in my book.
1) When do you arrive in Orlando? For me, the earlier the better. More park time.
2) Earlier or not, does the earlier flight fit your schedule? Getting there earlier doesn't do any good if you can't make the flight.

Since the airline made the change in the booking you have the option to keep the flight or get a full refund. I would call the airline directly and find out what your options are, check out the airfares, then get back to them.

Same thing happened to us except we were put on a LATER flight to Orlando and an EARLIER return flight. We lost two disney days in the process.

Thanks, well here is the deal. We now arrive in Orlando at 9:40 am, instead of 1:30pm. We are staying 7 nights with only 5 day hoppers, so weren't planning any park time on our travel days. We also have a 2-year old , so having all this extra free time with no room isn't going to work out all that great for us. Same with the flight back, now we don't depart till 6pm, again lots f extra free time.
I guess I'm looking for more advice? suggestions? on how to handle all the extra time on our hands.
I know they'll hold our bags at the resort. How about the groceries, if we have perishables?

Thanks all ! I know thanks to Disney Central and all the great people here I won't consider this a problem anymore.

One thing you could do is hit the petting farm over at Fort Wilderness. Kids always love animals. Also, if you pack your bathing suits in a separate suitcase so they're easily accessed you could go ahead & change & hit the pool for awhile. That has always been able to entertain my DH for hours.

Just thought of something else...for the leaving day, why don't you schedule a character breakfast at a non-park restaurant. Say Cape May or Chef Mickeys. Then she'll feel like she still got to do DisneyWorld that day.

Maybe, you can ask the Resort to give you a late check-out. Sometimes, they will work with you, especially since you have a little one. I know they ask you to be out by 11am, but it sure would not hurt to ask. :hmmm Good Luck!! JOANN

We had a few hours of waiting before our room was ready at WL. They had a refrigerated area in their luggage storage area so they stored my perishables there. We walked around the grounds and got something to eat. We didn't want to waste a park ticket for the day, so our DS's enjoyed walking around. You could also hop on bus to DD and walk around there.

make sure you reconfirm your flights before you go because since the war began Delta in particular has been changing and canceling flights and not advising either the passenger nor the travel agent. You will get there but just keep checking to make sure the times are the same and if they are not check to see if they can put you on a time that you want. Also if they say they can't get you there until the next day make sure you tell them to put you on another airline. They will do this usually unless the cancelation was due to weather or just because you want to change.
