What kind of rental would hold the most lugguge?

Well since we'll be staying at POR this year we decided to rent a car.

There will be 5 of us that need to be in one rental. 4 Adults, 1 child, in a carseat. And we'll have 5 large suitcases plus carry ons.....

What kind of vehicle should I lean towards?

I would definitely get at least a full-size vehicle, but even that might leave you slightly cramped. Maybe a minivan or an SUV!

I was thinking the same! I first priced out a Pacifica but was looking at pictures of the interior and realized that the backseat were bucket seats... Not leaving much room in the back for lugguge since another person would have to sit back there...... And so I changed it to a Caravan but looking at pictures of that we may have the same problem!

I think I may just be paranoid...

I would maybe check into SUVs...they often have some great storage space.

I think you'd probably be okay with a Caravan too though. My mom drives one, and I'm constantly surprised how much room there is! Yesterday we put 3 adults and the baby in there, and had more than enough room for waaaaaaay too much beach gear! Since you're talking big luggage only, and no beach chairs, coolers and whatnot, a van would probably be okay.

Also, if you prefer a car over a van, several times we have rented a LaSabre. You can fit a house in the trunk!

With 4 adults and the child in the car seat I think a minivan or SUV with a 3rd row is a must.

I would also suggest packing correctly. People pack WAY too much stuff!! (I am a reformed over-packer!)

Last year I squeezed stuff into 2 suitcases and ended up having to buy a suitcase at our resort (and they are NOT cheap--and not great quality--but they do say "walt disney world" on them) to get all of our stuff home. This year I can't do that again so even if each one of our suitcases are only 1/2 full I won't have to worry about 1) weight restrictions and 2) Having to buy another suitcase for the way home. I guess I could not buy as much down there... but what fun is that?

I really don't overpack... And if I do it's mostly for my 3 year old...She needs a couple extra outfits because she's a kid and tends to get messy...

We usually do use ME, but this year wanted a car so we could go off property if needed or MIL or FIL could go off property if they wanted too.
