DH and I are having a long weekend at WDW. So, no other option but to fly (do not like flying!!!). We are flying Southwest, and last time we did, got there super early to get an "A" ticket. Now someone is telling me to check in via computer. All you veteran flyers. Can you elaborate on the easiest, non-stressful procedures to get me on that plane (besides having a wine or two!)

Definitely do the online check in 24 hours before the flight. And i mean right away. If your flight is at 9:14 am, exactly 24 hours before then go to Southwest.com and check in at 9:14am. You will for sure get an "A" boarding ticket. That is the easiest way.

But don't give up hope if you can't do it right at the 24 hr period. Last trip I was at disney, and by the time we got back to the resort I was at the 20 hr mark and I still got an "A". Of course the sooner, the better, but don't think all hope is lost if you're late.

ehhhh....tell me what an "A" ticket is? I know that I am somewhere in the backwoods, but I have never paid attention to stuff like that. What difference does a ticket make, you got it, you get on the plane, you fly, you arrive (hopefully)

A ticket allows you to check in first I think....not sure because I haven't ever flown SW.

Definately do the online check in and get to the airport as early as possible...do have the wines too if that helps calm you. I have a double captain on the rocks no matter what time I fly for that purpose.....it helps..lol

I couldn't bring myself to do that at 7 a.m. so my dr. gave me a pill to make me not care where I was-I had a HUGE smile on my face !

South West does not not have preassigned seats. You board in 3 groups A B or C. The A's go first, and it is open seating, then the B's and lastly the C's. If you realy don't care where you sit, it does not matter unless you have a large group, and you want to keep everyone together.

In my past experiences with SWA I have found if you don't check in online it is very doubtful you are going to end up with an A ticket. We checked in online once a got all Bs. t'sI best to get online exactly 24 hours before your flight and print your boarding passes so you know you will be an A.

And.. if you do not bring a laptop with you ...when you are ready to come home, you can always ask a CM at the reservation desk to check in for you online. We do that and they have been very helpful each time.
