I've flown out of Laguardia...you're better off time-while flying out of Bradley. From Cheshire to Laguardia is about 2-2.5 hour drive depending on traffic.

I used to live in South Meriden and we flew to Laguardia- it was about 2 hours with no traffic

Re: Connecticut Folks....

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking. Of course last year when I went down they were renovating the whole White Stone Bridge and that took awhile to get through. The White Stone can take forever to get over w/o construction so make sure you factor this in.

What time are you leaving?

Re: Connecticut Folks....

I think (especially since I am on the other side of the CT river) that I would rather fly out of Boston than deal with the traffic of NY for either of those airports. Im so happy that we have Southwest in Bradley!

Re: Connecticut Folks....

I'm actually flying out of Westchester. It's a smaller airport and no craziness of Laguaria or JFK. Plus since I live in the Greenwich area is a hop-skip-jump away. I couldn't get over Airtran has no-stop flights from Westchester to MCO. Yay!

Yup, I'm smack in the middle of Lag/JFK and BDL... about 1-1.5hr each way. But I'm minutes away from Westchester and I got round trip to MCO non-stop for about $225.

Hopefully they'll keep that up b/c that's so convenient

Re: Connecticut Folks....

We usually go through Bradley, and when we were purchasing our tickets Southwest was high and we were expecting teh rates to skyrocket, so I purchased tickets out of LAG for $79 each way. It was a purely financial decision. Now, of course, Southwest has come down and I still have to fly out of LAG! Oh well. My flight is at 9 PM. We need to leave here around 2/3 pm in order to avoid any Friday afternoon traffic!!! This stinks, but whatever I have to do to get to the mouse I have to do!!!!!!!!!

So teh concensus is about 2 -3 hours huh? I am dredding this first portionof the trip!!!!

Re: Connecticut Folks....

AVOID going over the Whitestone Bridge at ALL COSTS. There is construction on the bridge DAILY and the delays are insane. Take the Throgs Neck instead.

Nokey Nose, I just had to jump in here and say hi, as I am also from Cheshire! We just got back last week; we flew in and out of Bradley. It's SO much easier than dealing with NYC. It only took us about 50 mins to get to Bradley.

I know, Bradley is a beeze!!!! We usually fly out of Bradley, but this time we took a great deal out of LGA ($79/seat while Bradley was $300/seat) and two weeks later Bradley went to $69 bucks a ticket! Oh well, a little adventure on the way to our vacation I guess! I hope you enjoyed your trip, I am sure it came and went way too fast!

Re: Connecticut Folks....

I used to live on the Litchfield/fairfield county line. My employer would send me on trips on a regular basis. However some corporate person decided JFK or LAG, was a better airport to send me out of then Bradley. I used to take the train or CT limo.

CT limo has a shuttle bus that runs several times a day and is much cheaper then parking. I believe the farthest east they go is commuter lot just off 691 in cheshire. (last exit before you hit 84, I thinks its route 10????)
