Another Magical Express Question

Sorry about this. I am confused yet again.
I spoke to my TA today and she said our tags will be sent directly to our house in about 2 weeks. I should tag them before we leave home, but when we arrive in MCO we should grab them ourselves and take them to the ME counter. I thought we didn't have to worry about them once they left our hands in our home airport. Is this correct? She said we want to make sure we have everything before we leave the airport in case we need to make a claim.

That is incorrect , once you tag them with the yellow me tags, and check them at your home airport, you don't have to worry about them until they are sitting in your room at wdw. We have never had a problem.

ArielBelle, which airline are you flying on? If it is one of their partners, don't worry about it, they will show up in your room. If you are one of the other airlines (southwest for example), they will get your luggage for you, but you need to let the people at the ME desk know about your luggage, it is not automatic.

We've used DME twice and flown in on SWA and haven't had to tell them anything when we checked in. Both times our luggage ended up in our room later that day, were we just lucky?

Re: Another Magical Express Question

When we flew SWA we had to give ME our baggage claim tags when we checked in.

Re: Another Magical Express Question

If you want your luggage quicker and intend to get it yourself, do not tag them with the yellow tags at all. If your airline does offer the luggage pick-up thing through ME and you intend to use it, tag them. When you check in at the ME counter they ask you for your luggage claim tickets or at least they did when I used it.

We always fly sw and we have never had to do anything special with our luggage , it has always been in our room when we arrived, now when we departed it is a little different, we had to take our luggage down to the airline check in at the resort , but even then after that it was taken care of.

Re: Another Magical Express Question

We are flying Continental. I was hoping to tag them in NY and not worry about them until we got to Riverside. Isn't how this is done? I remember how taxing it was last trip with three kids, stroller, backpacks AND luggage. I wanted to not think about the luggage until we were at the resort. I should just do that and not listen to my TA...right?

So, what happens if something is missing?
