How long?

How long will it take once our flight has landed to get the resort to check in? We're planning on using ME and we'll each have one large suitcase (so, 2 total). We'll be staying at CBR and our flight lands around 12:30pm on Midwest. I'm trying to figure out which park to venture to or what to do for ADR's that day based on how long it will take to get on property. TIA!

Re: How long?

In the past it has taken us about two hours from landing at the airport. Also keep in mind that I've gone during the summer. I guess it would just depend on how busy/crowded the ME area is.

Re: How long?

We ahve used DME twice. The first time we were at our resort in about 75 minutes and the second time we were dropped off 47 minutes after we stepped off the plane. I was very pleased both times. Just to be safe plan on 2 hours but hope for less.

Re: How long?

I would assume about an hour to an hour and a half from the airport to your resort. Checking in should add about another 30minutes or so depending on how many people are checking in with you. I would honestly say making an 6pm ADr would be fine. I wouldn't do it any earlier. Why rush around when you first get there? Pick a park that is hosting evening EMH that night. Have dinner and then enjoy the park.

Re: How long?

That's what I wanted to do Dana. I'm concerned about crowd levels with that plan though too. Totally separate question which I posted on another board but, the park that has EMH is the busiest so it worries me. But, I'd like to take advantage of the EMH since we'll be losing a lot of time during our traveling.

We just got back on Saturday. When we arrived, our plane landed around 10AM, and we were at MGM by 1PM That included eating lunch at th food court in our hotel (POFQ).

You can't beat that! I know not everyone likes DME but we have been very pleased both times we've used it. One time we landed at about 5 pm and the other time we landed about 8pm so maybe we had better luck becaused we arrived later in the day.

I think you will be perfectly fine with this plan. I don't usually plan on being "commando" touring on my first day. It's more like a "ahh I'm here" day and I just suck in some sights and enjoy a few attractions. It's a good idea to start off this way so you aren't feeling rushed...you;ll be doing enough running the rest of the trip. Just take your time and enjoy just being there the first day.
