spirit airlines..opinions, please

Have you ever flew with them? How was your experience? Is is comfortable?

I flew with them last october for the first time. I loved them. They left on time, great attendants and the price was right. I am flying with them again in August.

Spirit is the only airline for my family! As long as we are going where they fly - that is the airline us. Everything Dana said and the airplanes are VERY roomy and comfortable.

I was pricing out some last minute stuff...Just for haha's and DH had never heard of them and was leary....

What airport are you flying out of?

You are welcome on the opinion. alicefan's experience with them is what made me want to try them.

Thanks Alicefan! DH was leary... usually we are JetBlue Fliers...
but if we were to go away last minute I don't want to pay the fares they have....Spirit was the cheapest... Even though we'd have to drive to AC (almost 3 hrs for us)

Well, if we were to go... Which we aren't sure yet...Since the trip would be more for job opportunites than fun really (well maybe a little fun)... We'd leave out of AC

AC airport is a breath of fresh air and worth the drive. It only has 8 terminals and the place is so relaxed and slow-paced. Much nicer than big airports. Parking there is SUPER cheap too. $8 a day or some crazy number like that. You are going to love it there.

That's great!!! It's small like the last airport we flew out of (Stewart--in Newburgh, NY)... I loved that!

I'm definatly going to tell DH about your rave reviews!!!

Yes, totally small. I loved that. After flying out of philly all those other times, this was just so nice...you feel spoiled..lol It helps having less stress before the flight too. I am a nervous flyer and it's impossible to get lost or miss you plane unless you just get there to late. They have a tiny little bar there too...I had my captain morgan there at like 5:30am..lol

We have flown spirit numerous times and loved it. Just like Dana said the airport is great and the parking is cheap. Lately though we have noticed that spirit has very high priced airfare and it was so much cheaper for us to fly southwest out of Phila.
I wish spirit would have cheap fares like they used to cause I know that I would be in Disney more. lol

I think Philly is about the same distance as AC for us... But we were looking at flying out in like 2 or 3 days from today and I came across 179 r/t thru spirit....But I don't think that we are going to be able to go

Spirit is great. I take them to AC about 4 times a year. Actually, with two weddings in NJ this fall, it will be more like 6 times this year. I have no complaints. But, there was a cancellation that caused me to miss an extra day of work a year ago. It happens on all of them at some point, though.

179.00 dollars round trip from spirit is awesome.... When we were looking for our last trip the lowest I saw with them was around 275.00 OUCH We paid 117.00 r/t with the southwest.... So we went with them...

If spirit was cheaper I would fly them all the time.
