Rental Cars

Does anyone know of any Rental Car company offering a good deal in August? I am starting to look now, and was wondering if anyone here knew of any good deals. We are looking for a full size vehicle. Thanks for any info you might have!

Rental Cars

Kim,

I get e-mails from Alamo.com Hot Deals, but at this point I have only seen special rates through June 25.

If anything comes through for August I will post or you could become a member of Alamo.com and get the e-mails directly if you like Alamo. It is free to join.

They are on site at Orlando Airport now and it was very convenient for our trip this past Feb.

Thanks Graybill! Are they AT the airport now? The last time I rented with Alamo, I had to take a shuttle from the airport to the Alamo location. Although it was not far, it still took a lot of time away from my morning.

Rental Cars

Yes, they are right next to the National counter. After you do the paperwork, you just walk across the street, up to the 2nd floor and pick up your car.
It was about 15 minutes when we rented in Feb.

We are renting a car from Alamo and used a code from FamilyFun magazine that gives you 20% off, plus you receive a coupon for a free child's character breakfast when you pick up the car. We are going for a week, May 24th and got a rate of $111.99 wk for a mid-size car.

Rental Cars

Alamo is definately at the airport terminal.

As far as I know, anyone can subscribe to alamo.com. I just gave them my e-mail address and filled out a profile on line and that was it.

Give it a try.

We used National in Jan and I found a great deal on mousesavers.com. I followed links to get a free Emerald Club Membership ($50 value) that let us just walk to the lot at the airport and pick any car from that isle and drive to the checkout gate. With Emerald Club we got to totally skip the rental car desk check-in! We went straight to the lot and the keys were in all the cars on the Emerald Club Isle. We got a new Toyota Camry for about $90 for 5 days. I'm also a Disney Club member so I applied that discount and there were several other discounts to apply. I just followed the details on mousesavers.com. Good luck.

I have found that rental car prices tend to go up the sooner you get to your date.

I think by far Alamo has the best rates. We just rented a car through them a couple of days ago to drive down to Myrtle Beach next week and believe me, I think I went on every rental car site known to man. Alamo definitely has the best rates and some good weekly specials too. In fact, its from this site that I read to check out Alamo.com and register to be a member. Whoever put the word out on that, thanks!:D
