Car/Limo Services?

I know I have heard about Quicksilver on MB before but what about the other options.
Has anyone used others like Sunray Transportation, Top One Tours, AAA Limo or Tiffany?
Pluswhat makes Quicksilver so good?
It's only going to cost about $15-25 per person 1 way-round trip to use them rather than the Magical Express. I'm just thinking of all the time we can save by using them. Is it worth it? What should I expect?

Re: Car/Limo Services?

I think the service is what makes QuickSilver so good. I booked QuickSilver a few years ago for my DILs and we were all happy.

I am afraid to try any other company. Quicksilver has never disappointed. Saving $ 10.00/20.00 isn't worth the hassle

Re: Car/Limo Services?

I used Tiffany's for years until 2 bad experiences with them. I only use Quicksilver now when I use towncar services. I haven't tried any other, but have heard nice things about Happy Limo too.

Re: Car/Limo Services?

Do you really think that using the service gets you to Disney quicker? Some people have told me after waiting for your own luggage and stuff, you get to Disney as quick as the Magical Express service. What do you think?
I know for the ride to the airport we will use it to be able to spend more time at the parks or DTD.
The bigger issue is the first part of the trip is booked through our convention we're going to so I don't have a reservation # to get the Magical Express set up. I haven't heard back from the convention people about setting it up.
SO use it 1 way ($14 to MCO) or both($24)?
As far as I'm concerned the money isn't that much so just deciding how to do it is the question. I know my Aunt is trying to save $ tho...

Re: Car/Limo Services?

Our first WDW trip in '05 we used Tiffany. They were recommended to us by some friends who are DVC owners and frequent WDW guests. They always used Tiffany and had no issues. We had no issues on our trip either, everything went very well.

We used Quicksilver in '06 because they are a MB sponsor, and they also had great service.

Both were right on time for the arrival and departure and both allowed for the grocery stop.

All things being equal, I would go with Quicksilver over another towncar service if for no othe reason than they help support our favorite website!!!

Re: Car/Limo Services?

I haven't used ME yet (we are for our upcoming October trip), but from what I've read there may be some delay because of a wait at the airport for more people or because they may drop other guests at other resorts before they get to yours. With Quicksilver (or any towncar), it is all based upon you, so it is straight from the airport to the grocery store (if you want) and then straight to your resort.

BTW-the owner of Quicksilver is a regular here on MB and has been very good at answering questions and/or addressing any concerns.

Re: Car/Limo Services?

We too used Tiffany for several years, but the last two trips they were very disappointing, so we're using Quicksilver this year. As far as time, depending when our luggage finally comes around, we're usually at the resort 35/40 minutes after landing. If your resort is the first stop with ME, maybe the same time, but if not, it will take longer.

Re: Car/Limo Services?

We used Quicksilver for all three trips and have had great service every time! They are waiting for us by the baggage claim and off we go as soon as the luggage is in our excited little hands. This time we happened to notice the ME bus had just arrived and was loading up as we were leaving the airport. We did a 30 minute grocery stop, arrived at the resort, unloaded, and had just checked in when a ME bus arrived and unloaded lots of people. Not sure if it was the same bus, but the check-in line at the resort was all of three people so I'm thinking a bus didn't unload much before we got there. Maybe there's a number you can call to ask for the drop-off sequence. Then you'd know where your resort falls in the line.
Quicksilver is awesome!

Re: Car/Limo Services?

In January I rented a car and drove to the resort. Others in my group took ME. They waited at the airport for more than 30 minutes and then were one of the last stops. Even with getting my own luggage and renting a car I was checked in and relaxing before they got off the bus.

They were all very disappointed in ME and wont do it again. Could have been a problem because of the slower time of year.

I haven't used the ME, but have heard others complain about how early they had to leave to get back TO the airport.

Re: Car/Limo Services?

We have used both Tiffany and Quicksilver without any trouble. We switched to Quicksilver as they are a sponsor of MB, which gives us all a great place to hang out. The town-car service gets you there quicker (IMHO). They help you with your bags, and are there waiting for you.

Re: Car/Limo Services?

So, you've all convinced me to go round trip with QuickSilver.
ME we were more concerened with as (we drove Mom flew) and the ME driver actually got pulled over on the way to Disney. She still has a bad taste in her mouth and almost missed dinner with us which was 4 1/2 hours AFTER her plane landed!
So I'm glad to hear so many good things about Quicksilver and can't wait to get there. Thank's for all your help!
Oh one more question! Have any of you reserved online or do you call the # to make them?

I have reserved both on-line a via a phone call. Either one is very easy. I would go the online route unless there is a question on the form you are unsure of.

We just used Quicksilver a few weeks ago for the 3rd time and were very pleased.
