Re: Southwest questions

We have flown with SW many times.

We have had great experiences with them.

Our flight schedule has never changed.

We always print out our boarding passes before our flight. They now let you do it 24 hrs. in advance. You want to do it as soon as possible in that 24 hr window, so you can get an A boarding pass. (This just means you get to board quicker) OH.. and if you go to the resort CM desk or concierge they will print out your passes and check you in for your flight home.

Oh.. i almost forgot.. we always get there ahead of schedule.. even if we loose time on the tarmack

Re: Southwest questions

I also love southwest. I have never been late, but my parents were a little late leaving in March and arrived almost 20 minutes late. The weather was bad and they had to de-ice the plane.

otherwise, like said before, we've always been early. Checking in at the 24 hr mark, getting the A boarding pass is also great. You can check in at any resort desk or park and they will also print your return ticket.

Best thing about southwest, if the fares go down, rebook and you have the credit to use up to 1 year from the original purchase time, and it is transferable.

Re: Southwest questions

We have flown SW once, last year. They were great. We arrived early, both arriving in WDW and coming home. The flight attendants we had on the trip down were awesome, very funny, spent lots of time joking with the kids. We will use them again!

our flight attendants were also very funny. No one was listening to her beginning speech on how to use the air masks.. etc, and she actually said blah, blah, blah, I looked at DH and said did she say "blah....." he said I think so, she looked at me and said, well someone was listening!

Re: Southwest questions

SW has the best record for on-time flights. There have been a couple of instances were our flight was delayed leaving but the pilot always made up the time and got us back quicker than we were supposed to. The flight attendants are almost always friendly and fun.

We print out our passes at home or have the hotel do it for us.

Re: Southwest questions

Its our favorite airline! Excellent customer service, and they are pretty good at being on time.

Re: Southwest questions

We love SWA, they are always our first choice. Our flight has never changed and we have never been late getting in. In December when we flew to Orlando it was really foggy out and the crew said 25 people had checked inbut hadn't boarded the plane, we waited about 20 minutes for some to show up and we were still on time.

We always have the front desk print our boarding passes while we're at WDW. You can also call someone and have them check you in and then print your boarding passes when you get to the airport. I have also read where people have gone to guest service in the parks and the CMs there have printed their boarding passes.

Re: Southwest questions

We've been hoping for years that SW would decide to use our airport, but so far, not happening. Only thing I don't like about SW is their boarding rules. That sucks.

Re: Southwest questions

Okay, so I am very interested. My MIL sold me on SW recently and I was actually concerned with the flight back. How does the hotel or parks check in for me? I will need to be on top of this b/c I have 2 kids and 3 other adults with us. I prefer not to wait for the family's calling b/c they are both hyper kids and I want them to get in and sit! The other passanger will prefer this too! So what do I do at the park and/or the resort desk to check in???

We love how SW boards, it quick and painless. It's even better now because they line you up by the number on your boarding pass (not just the letter), the earlier you check in the earlier you board the plane.

^^^^What DT said......SW boarding is quick and easy.

And if you get an A ticket you have a better chance of sitting where you want and with who you want (or maybe who you don't want)

If you have small children you board near the beginning anyhow. Otherwise you can go find somewhere with internet access and check in that way then just have the hotel print it for you.

We love SW- they are kid friendly and they dont spend time with the silly stuff. We have never been late unless it was a backup on the tarmac and that is not their fault. I just wish they would work with Disney and their early checkin thing where you can drop your bags with them. Then they would be a mothers dream!

I guess that's my problem. I'm used to picking where we want to sit, not by chance. If SW ever does come to Milwaukee and they are cheaper than the airlines we already have here, I'd give them a try.

Re: Southwest questions

Is this how SW boards;

You print a boarding pass at home before you leave?
Then you check in at the airport to get your seat assignment?
