Flying into Tampa? - Page 2

Well, I went and booked my flights!!!!!!!

I booked Philly to Orlando RT on Southwest for like $557 for 2 tickets.

I booked the last nite flight out on 10/30 arriving Orlando at 11:30
Iam hoping the car rental place will still be open when I get there!!! (close 11:59pm)

And then flying home 11/8 leaving orlando 4:10pm on a Connecting flt thru Raleigh (I only booked a connection because I wanted a later flight and did not want to leave Orlando at 7am!!!!!!!!)

I really had to look for the best deals, because it's 2 of us flying so anything I save is DOUBLE Savings!!!

That's why I was considering Tampa.
But TL won out in the end! lol

Just have to wait to hear back from the Travel agent.

I was thinking of taking the taxi to hotel in Kissimmee but that means I would have to take another taxi the next day to get to CBR and Iam cheap!

There it's done!!! Whew!!!!!!!!

Now I just have to pay off my trip by Sept. 15th!!!

Wont it cost the same if you have to get a rental and a hotel for an extra day? We did this once and flew into orlando via usa 3000 (very cheap) and flew home ft. lauderdale same air. However we already had the car and didnt need any extra days but for under $500 for 5 people the 4 hour drive was worth it.

Thank you!!!! I just feel more confident with an evening flight!!!

DD and I aren't morning people AT ALL!!!
Iam actually paying a little more and taking a connection coming home to PHL just to avoid an early morning flight!!!!

PLUS I want to get as much out of my trip and I feel flying home in the morning is just wasting that day when I can get some more park time in,etc..

Also it's comforting to know that I can change my ticket, if need be, w/o any fees!!!!

The drive from Tampa to Orlando wouldnt bother me in the least!!!

I would say it depends on how much money you will save flying in to Tampa. The more air tickets you have to purchase, the bigger the savings.

It's about a 30 min drive from the airport to the park anyway, so adding another 45mins to your trip isn't that big a deal. In fact, I think I will check that out for my January trip. SW prices have not budged from $220 one way!!

Oy! Sorry, just saw you had already made a decision.

I don't have a countdown & don't know how to get one. :( My dates are Oct. 6-10 of 2008. That's the day after Homecoming at church. But, first we are leaving for Pigeon Forge Sept 8-11. Can't go before then as Grandparents Day at school is Sept 5th. We try not to be gone on the week-ends. We don't like to miss our church services.

Sorry, I meant to say go to User CP then go to Edit Options it should be toward the bottom of the page. Hope this helps.

I have done this route many times. The drive is not bad at all. The airport is nice and as long as ou don't hit construction during rush hour, you will have no problem.
