Re: Printing your boarding pass

Oh my gosh, I ONLY print my boarding passes at home! It saves SO much time, we also VERY RARELY check luggage so printing them at home LITERALLY allows me to enter the airport and go straight to security & to my gate. Easy Peasy. We only fly Continental so we always go on-line 24 hours before our flight to choose our seat & print them out. As far as our return flight goes, if I don't have my laptop with me, I stop at the concierge desk 24 hours before our flight and ask them to print it for me. Never had a problem.

It's nice and convenient to print them at home. But if you have a lot of bags to check you might still be standing in line to check bags.

And that's my question ... if I have to check bags anyway, how does checking in online (if I already have seat assignment) help me?

I almost always use curbside check-in where available. I've always found it to be quick and efficient. Would it really be faster if I already had my boarding pass? They still have to go to the computer to process my bags and print out the luggage tags ... does the boarding pass process add substantial time to the overall process?

Funny thing is, if they print my boarding pass out for me at the airport, I actually see THAT as one less thing to worry about, since it's one less thing I have to remember to NOT LEAVE AT HOME!

I always print them at home and I feel that it does save time as all you need to do when you get to the airport is go thru security

That's so true. Curbside will be your best bet. If you didn't have luggage to check I would say just do it online. But since you have bags to Check just do it there.

I know what you are talking about and, like you, do not see how printing the boarding pass at home would save that much time either. They have to go on the computer and do the luggage tags anyway so it is not much more time to get the boarding passes then.

I do like the machines that give you the boarding passes and the luggage tags - you put them on yourself and then give them to the teller.

Re: Printing your boarding pass

Now that I think of it, last time we flew out of RI and we used curbside checkin. It was super quick & we did not print our boarding passes at home. This time I'm flying out of Logan (Boston, MA) aka nightmare airport.

Re: Printing your boarding pass

okay, I was wondering this myself for our return trip. Because the night before (24 hours in advance) we will be at a Disney park, and I was wondering if I would have to go back to SSR to print my boarding pass and then go back to the park for continued fun. So, instead of doing that, I can go to Guest Relations at the Park (24 hours in advance) to get our boarding passes?. We are flying Southwest, and I love being in Group A for a better choice of seats - we just love bulkhead seating. :)

thanks,
margaret

Re: Printing your boarding pass

I guess I'll print them BUT Delta @ Logan airport has curb-side check in. They said it takes just a few minutes longer if they print your boarding passes. You have to wait in the curbside line anyway. So it's good to know that in case I forget my printed ones I'll still have options there. Their website lists 3 options but each one you still have to wait in line for your luggage check in

We asked very nicely at AK last summer and they were happy to print our boarding passes. We were trying to do it on my phone but it was taking too long to check all 8 of us in one by one.

It's still quicker as your only dropping the bags that need to be checked in. The longest time seems to be gettingthe boarding passes anyway. So I say print them at home and use guest services or check with your resort as they may have a Kiosk to do it for the trip home

IF your airline does not have curbside check-in and you print your boarding pass at home you don't stand in the "regular" check-in line. Rather, you generally go to a self-seve kiosk with your bags. An attendant still has to check your ID, but it has always been quicker for me than standing in the check-in line.
