Icon5 Printing your boarding pass

I was wondering if all of you print your own boarding passes at home? I haven't flown in over 3 years and at that time we just got them at the airport. Is printing them at home a time saver of lines at the airport OR is that what you are suppose to do now? We're flying Delta & I have my vouchers.

I always print my own at home. It's really quite easy.

Re: Printing your boarding pass

Printing your boarding passes does save time. I do it for every flight. You only have to check you bags at that point and save yourself an extra step.

Re: Printing your boarding pass

We always fly Southwest and we need to print our boarding passes at home or we'll be the last ones to board. SWA boards in the order you print your boarding passes.

We ask the front desk to print our passes for our return flight.

Re: Printing your boarding pass

Well I am leaving at 5:15 am so it's probably not very busy. I do have assigned seats for all four of us. Our seat numbers are listed right on my ticket (two of them window seats for the kids). I guess Delta works alittle differently.

Spirit works the same way. You get assigned seats. I still print my boarding pass. Departure day is hectic enough, so why add to it?

I agree with everyojne else. Printing them ahead of time makes it so much easier. It's just one less thing you have to worry about.

Re: Printing your boarding pass

Definitely print them. It says a lot of time at the airport and most airlines prefer you to have your boarding passes ready. It saves the baggage checker and the person flying a lot of time.

Re: Printing your boarding pass

Definitely print your boarding passes. More importantly, don't forget to take them to the airport after you print them. You can reprint them at one of the kiosks at the airport if you forget them, but it is much easier to have them when you get to the airport.

DisneyTeacher,

I've always wondered about our return flights and the printing of boarding passes. Do you go up to the front desk a few minutes before your flight and wait? How agreeable are they to doing this? We'll be staying at POP in November and I'd really like to have this done.

There are 2 different answers to your question.

1) Pop Century, like every WDW resort, has a Lobby Concierge desk; this is separate from the resort's front desk. This is where you can go to get your boarding passes printed. Most airlines that offer online check-in allow you to do it up to 24 hours in advance. I wouldn't wait 'til the last minute ... what if there's a line.

In addition, you can also get your boarding passes printed at Guest Relations at any of the parks as well as at Downtown Disney.

2) Separate from all of the above is a service called Resort Airline Check-in (RAC). There is a RAC desk at each resort, including Pop. Think of RAC as curbside check-in, except that it's located inside your resort lobby instead of at the airport. It's exactly like curbside check-in in that you get your boarding passes AND check your luggage through to your final destination.

HOWEVER, not everyone can use RAC. You have to be flying one of the "participating airlines" on a domestic flight that leaves anytime after 8:00 a.m.

RAC is free and does not require any sort of reservation. RAC is often thought of as part of Disney's Magical Express, but they are separate services. You can use RAC whether or not you are riding the DME bus back to the airport.

Re: Printing your boarding pass

So here's my question ...

I fly on an airline where I already paid for seat selection. I need to check my bags with my airline at the airport (either curbside or at the ticket counter).

How will checking-in online help speed things up for me? What is the advantage of doing so, in my particular case???

Since I have to wait in line at the airport with my luggage anyway, how can checking-in online possibly help me?

Re: Printing your boarding pass

We print them at home and we check bags at the curb. Nothing is more stressful to me than getting in a long line at the airport!

I think it's just one less thing to have to worry about. We always curb check our bags and the skycap always asks for our ID and boarding passes. We have them in hand so it's just that much quicker.
