Re: Warning!!!!
Sorry about your problem. I only fly Jetblue and sometimes Continental. My sister also had problems with Airtran last year.

Re: Warning!!!!
Sorry about your problems. I know how stressfull that must be! You would think with all the airline problems and additional fees they charge, we would get first rate service!! But nooo.
![]() We always fly AirTran on the first flight of the day (way to anxious to get to WDW!! ) so we've never had any issues with changes and fly home late afternoon (with another available flight after us - just in case!!) but that's been problem free too. Then again, we're in the midwest so not many things change here.![]()

Re: Warning!!!!
I can tell you that as a TA, I have had this happen to my last 3 families that have flown out of Pittsburgh. 2 times with Airtran and 1 with USAIR. I always get the same answer from the airlines that they apologize for the inconvience and they will offer alternatives at no charge. But I tell them that sometimes for families the alternatives aren't an option. The families chose those flights for a reason and now your airline has made the families have dislike for your airline.
Not that it works, but it makes the families feel better knowing that they are being heard.

Re: Warning!!!!
We're flying Delta non-stop. It costs more but my TA said they don't make changes as drastic as some other airlines. I only had one flight change. I leave 25 minutes earlier from Boston BUT I arrive early in Florida so I'm OK with that. My TA said Delta's policy is if there's 2 flight changes you are entitled to 100% refund with no cancellation fees or penalty. Some people flying other airlines she said had changes of leaving WDW 6 hours earlier than expected!

Re: Warning!!!!
We have reservations on Spirit Air in December. We like to use Atlantic City airport and they are the only game in town. Rec'd two changes to the flights so far. The first one was an earlier flight the day we come home meaning less time at Disney. I was annoyed! Second change was to a later flight coming home which is good. Can't wait to see what flight we actually end up with.

Re: Warning!!!!
For our upcoming trip I had that happen with American and Delta. I booked 2 flights - one for my mom and one for us.
My mom's flight was changed a bunch of times by American and the only reason I found out was that I kept checking the reservation online. At first I did not do anything since the changes were minor but then I watched on the news how AA was no longer doing direct flights to MCO from a lot of airports. My mom's flight was one of those - I had booked an AM non-stop flight and she ended up with a late afternoon flight that had a lay-over of over 2 hours! She would have arrived at MCO at 11PM (instead of 10AM). Ours was changed from a morning flight to an evening flight - I told them change it or refund me. I got refunds for both flights - this was (of course) after I had found better flights elsewhere. I actually found cheaper flights and we all get there at the same time so it worked out in the end....or am I jinxing myself? Off to check our flights again!!! |

Re: Warning!!!!
Oh and I never - NEVER - got an email or phone call for any of the changes done to our reservations. If I had not checked it myself we would have found out the day before the flight when I went to check us in.

Re: Warning!!!!
Sorry Stan! I have ranted about Airtran before, even swearing here on MB that I would never book with them again. Something ALWAYS happens to my ressies with Airtran, costing me more money to rebook later at a higher cost. I feel your pain

However, the really good news (for us) is that the price of EACH ticket has gone up $310 since we booked .

Re: Warning!!!!
This past June, Continental stopped flying to Midway after I had purchased tickets fly there. I never received an email (even though I booked the trip using their on-line reservation center) or a phone call informing me that my destination had changed airports. The days were the same, and the time was changed minimally. But I was now flying into O'Hare!
Luckily, we spotted the story in the news and I checked my reservations. All we had to change were the logistics of getting from the airport to my brother's Chicago apartment. It was a little more complicated than coming from Midway. Imagine if I hadn't found out until I got to the airport! I did call Continental and complain...all they did was apologize and then send me an email with the changes. I only fly Continental out of Cleveland to Orlando and luckily have never had a change made.

Re: Warning!!!!
Thanks Everyone for the support.
I do realize that this is a challenging industry that is going through many changes. I understand that. What I do not accept is the extremely poor level of customer service. IMO it is unacceptable. I do not think that I am alone in this. As consumers begin to revolt (as I did in moving my reservation and $$ away from Airtran), the airlines will hopefully finally take notice. I will say this (and I do not mean to offend anyone): When these airlines start to go out of business, I will not shed one tear for anyone who works for them. They are choosing their own destiny!
