Airline price question?

With the cost of gas going down do you think that the airlines will lower the prices? I remember in 2007 I was able to get 5 RT tickets from Philly to Orlando for under $525. This year I couldnt touch 5 RT tickets for under$800

I had to plunk down 1200.00 for two tickets in January. I hope for all of you that the prices go down, but I can't say that I think you're being quoted something outrageous.

$1200 is outrageous to me for 2 tickets

I think SWA has some of the best fares out there. I just seen a hugh difference within the last year from getting tickets. This dec I am going to drive. Not because of price with air but fear that the flight may be delayed,besides. the kids want to take a road trip so thats what I plan to do

I wouldn't look for any big drops soon. We all know gas prices could shoot back up at any point so I'm sure they are going to play it safe for now.

I am shocked by $1200.00!!!

I never spent that much for 5 flying from Ia to Orlando.

It may be a higher airline. Some have crazy rates for nothing but peanuts

Last November I spent that "little" for 4 tickets. We live in the booneys of North west Michigan

Actually, some airlines are already getting rid of surcharges. Jet fuel prices are falling quickly. I wouldn't be surprised to have prices fall back to "normal" by the end of November.

Lets hope what ever Exxon does in the next few days will allow prices to start to go back to normal. I am hoping the economy will not get any worse and in the end plane tickets and park passes will be a little more of a reality for families.

I hope the prices for airfare drop. The gas around the corner yesterday was $2.51 and today $2.45.

Where do you live at in NJ? Im in West Deptford and the wawa is $2.67

Gas in Winslow Twp NJ was $2.53 yesterday. Spirit Airlines ticket prices are down from what I paid in June for December tickets. I paid $557.60 for 2 round trip tickets from Atlantic City to Orlando. This includes $61.60 in travel taxes and fees but does not include the baggage fees. Southwest has special $179 round trip per person rates. For 5 people that comes out to $895 total. I could have saved almost $200 on my airfare.

You were smart to wait...you can get a better deal now.

Gas yesterday here in Ia was $2.39

We got extremely lucky with our air fare way back in April. I saw $79. each way and grabbed it. I thought for sure with the gas prices then, and the fact that we were flying out of Phila. the Sat. after Thanksgiving that we were going to pay huge amounts of $$.
