Airfare question.

Is this considered a good deal?

$253.50 - non-stop round trip flights from BDL to MCO.

If I booked at this price and the price went down would we get a refund?

I believe I paid 225 last time, but the price rose to around 300 by flight time.

Thanks!!!

I would say that's a good deal compared to flying out of Cincinnati. We pay around $300. We always fly non-stop Delta.

This past year when I booked we payed $290. About a week later the price went down to $265. I called and they gave me a $25 credit per person. This credit can be used for future flights and expires in (1) year. The credit can not be combined for one ticket.

I kept checking the price for the next few months, but it never went lower. They told me if it did drop below $265, I would get another credit.

Did you check Southwest Airlines? Depending on when you want to go, Southwest offers a promotional fare of $79.00 one way Bradley to Orlando. Check the web site http://www.iflyswa.com/cgi-bin/buildItinerary

Mdl152, welcome to Disneycentral, that was a great suggestion.

As far as I can tell, Delta and Southwest are the only two airlines that fly non-stop to Orlando from Hartford. I was able to find some stop over flights for about $171, but Delta was over $300. Southwest was about $175 per person on the non-stop flights. The only problem with that is that the flight coming home leaves Orlando at 2:50 PM. They do have one stop flights that leave as late as 7:15 PM, but they take a good 90 minutes longer. (the stop is in Baltimore).

By the way, I know how you feel. We live in a Delta hub, and they are the only ones who fly non-stop to Orlando. In the past, we have been able to get fares as low as $180 round trip on Delta, but I haven't seen anything lower than about $350 during this last year. At least you have the Southwest option.

A BIG welcome to you MDL152 and thanks for the link to SW air. I had been on the hotwire site looking for "supposedly" the best rates. SW gave me a round trip for 86.00 from Bham to Orlando. The best Hotwire came up with was 120! Looks like you are a great addition to DC,.hope to see you around a lot!

While were on the subject of airline tickets, I planned on buying mine through Expedia. I never bought airline tickets through them before, so if anyone has had any problems with them, please let me know. Secondly, if the price goes down on Expedia after I buy my tickets, will they reimburse me?

I'm also curious about Priceline.com. Has anyone ever tried them, and what were your experiences?

Mickaholic, we tried Priceline years ago - when we found out what the flights were, it was during a time when we could NOT go. Then, they placed us on a now-defunct air lines (considering the service, we now know why they went belly up) We had to pay extra to fly home using another air line, after waiting three hours at PBI waiting for a pilot who never showed up.

Again, this was years ago, and the plane issues we had were not related to Priceline. But, they represented the company, and DH got stuck trying to change his appointments around to accomodate what they gave us for flight times.

We stick with Delta or Southwest. We also use Orbitz - I love their pricing grid.

We got airfare from Denver to Orlando roundtrip for $153 per person thru travelocity and Disneymom and family got it on travelocity for $171 from Denver to Orlando. These are not non-stop flights but for that price I did not care. If you watch it close you can get killer deals on travelocity. Last year I know disneymom got round trip from Denver to Orlando for... are you ready? ...for $108 Yes $108 ROUNDTRIP!!! Unbelievable!!! anyway LOL

This was my first time using Expedia. I just bought our airline tickets for our trip in Dec. Everything went smoothly (knock on wood...until I get on that plane with no problems, then I can say it went smoothly) and I got a pretty good deal on tickets. $195.00 USAirways non stop from Pittsburgh. Its the cheapest I found, so I nabbed the tickets while the price was good. Boy, does the internet makes life easier!! ;) :D

I have bought on Expedia, Travelocity and even priceline with no problem so dont worry about that.

The only problem that I had with priceline was that I bought my tickets 11 months out so as the time approached my layover went from one hour to 15 min to make my connection. Any with small kids knows how important it is to have that extra time. And it was in Pittsburgh Airport which is just crazy to get around anyway. But that wasnt pricelines fault that US airways changed their flights. We made it and got a good deal so I was pretty happy about the whole ordeal.

Something else y'all might want to consider is getting on the emailing lists for the airlines that fly from your airport. We only have 3 (yes, I said 3!!) but I get all of the promotional info they put out. I have found the best deals that way!

DH (Joe),DD (Leslie), and me of course are thinking about flying down on Aug. 29th till Sept. 2nd. So , got on line and went to Southwest , and found an intenet special for $109.76 for round trip from Chicago to Orlando. That is a great deal. We don't know if Leslie can get off work, so we are waiting.
One question I do have is that we never flew SW. Any opinions??? I would appreciate it!! Thanks JOANN:)

Southwest Airlines is GREAT! I have many family members who fly SWA and won't fly anyone else unless there isn't anything else available. My personal experience with them was flawless... so go ahead and book those tickets!!!
