I'm glad everything worked out~ I know it's a special trip being your daughter's birthday. When my DH & I need to save a little for a special trip or purchase, we always look a little more closely at our day to day discretionary spending- like the $4 mocha at Starbucks, or the new pair of Nine West sandals when really, I already have 4 pairs that will get me through the summer

Well if you are so concerned by my posts or threads how about you either don't read them or don't leave a comment if its so much drama for you and everyone else who has a problem with it as well.
My dog is an outside dog who was bitten by a bug that carried the heart worm. The pill isn't 100% per the vet. Yes my dog was on a pill but it really isn't your business for me to go into details.
I started this to ask for advise not to be judged by you or any other members who may have a problem with it.
So if you think my threads are drama how about you don't even open them.

No judgement here, just trying to tell you that you cried wolf one too many times. If you put your stuff out there, you have to expect that not everyone is going to whine with you. That's all.

You make my head spin....you change your mind more than you don't. No offense Kate, but you need to scale the trip back and just save where you can. You don't need a thread for EVERYTHING....slow down girl...sheesh. Just SCALE back all the xtra nonsense. The point of the trip is to spend time with your DD, not put yourself in the poor house. Take care of your priorities first.

My opinion, if you care. If $300 is going to make or break a 10 day Disney trip, then yes, you better rethink everything. I would not change any plans except cancellation for $300.

Since you now have the payment extended and work will be okay, then I am glad for you.

We've taken a vacation every year for the last 5 or 6 years, actually last year I got the beach AND DW so that was very exciting, BUT that also means this year funds aren't quite there (of course building a 26 x 32 garage doesn't help) but there is no vacation for us this year. sometimes it just works out like that.

I think what happens is we read all your posts about ordering cakes, a trip to BBB, ordering flowers and MNSSHP and then the next day there is a thread about concern over $300. It's a real head scratcher.
I think those of us who have been around here long enough recognize this pattern. We see a lot of plan, plan, plan threads (which we love) and then there is always some sort of problem. Not that we all don't have our fair share of problems when it comes to trip planning. I try to be nice and friendly most of the time..but I feel I should say this. If you put something out there in a forum..for all to read..especially about MONEY..you are bound to hear things you don't like. Either embrace others opinions or just don't do it anymore.

I get what you are saying but again when I started planning this trip money wasn't an issue and in between things come up that wasn't expected.
Things do come up when planning a trip that can throw a curve in the orig plans. I do plan and pay for all my trips by myself plus keep up on all my bills a month by working collections and with the economy the way it has turned in my field just within the last few weeks has really but a curve in my plans and that's why I came here to ask advise but I've decided this will be the last thread about advise or anything such. I may do a TR or just log on to see what's going on but again I do get what you are saying

The problem I have is the fact that you post your plans, change your plans and post that, then suddenly something happens that upsets your apple cart a bit and the drama starts.
The new members here haven't seen this yet, but for us it's just more of the same.
You ask for advice yet EVERY time you get advice you dismiss it with a ready made answer. You NEVER take anyones advice, so why do you ask?

I have to agree with Dana here - so much is just plain commonsense. No one needs all those extras to have fun at WDW. I bet your daughter wouldn't even miss it. Gift baskets? c'mon. BBB - ridiculous price. And in the Florida heat all that hairspray and sparkle is just going to drip and get itchy anyway. Your daughter will be happy with a pony tail and her coolest shorts. Get the counterservice meal plan. You don't need to ask other people - you just have to use commonsense. These days everyone is cutting back - you need to get your priorities straight. If you want the trip, then cut the luxuries. It can actually be kind of fun if you have the right attitude.

I agree with these folks. Of course there's nothing wrong with extras like a limo, gift baskets, BBB, and cakes that will probably not be eaten, for those who can afford it (or those who want to spend their money on that), but honestly if money becomes a concern at all, it's a no-brainer to me that these things are the first to go. I'd probably also go with the counter service mealplan, and maybe just pay out-of-pocket for one special dinner for your daughter's birthday. I'm not saying you should cancel altogether or pack PB&Js for the whole trip, but it sounds like you could really cut out some extravagance and still have a great time.

Disney does have a lot of different special experiences to offer, but just a tip: we always try to pick just one or two of these things to do on each trip. It cuts down on costs, and we find it really gives us something to look forward to when we do get to do something extra, rather than it being non-stop, in-your-face, maniacal overstimulation. I think your daughter would probably appreciate this approach, too. I personally feel really sorry for the kids I see walking around the park in 95-degree heat, wearing hot polyester costumes and plastic dress-up shoes, and dripping with face paint. They just need to be comfortable to have fun.

I do hope your trip turns out great, and that your daughter has a happy birthday.

Well said llama, couldn't have said it better. Katelynn, take a deep breath and relax. Your dd would care less if she didn't get that basket or everything else you had planned for her. She'll be at WDW with mom. What else does she need or want?

Ok not too sure if everyone read this or not but the limo was canceled. It was $100 because I won a gift certificate at a bridal show. Counter service meal plan?? Why would I pay for that when I already have the free dining on my reservation???
BBB is her bday gift from her dad since he isn't going.
Cake is being put on a disney gc I have left over from christmas $15
They are the extras I cut.
