Area transportation and Child Seats

We are going down with my 2yo son and are trying to decide if we want to bring his carseat.

First decision is actually whether or not to rent a car for our trip (late Sept.). If we rent a car, we WILL take the car seat.

How are the Disney buses with a small child? Is it safe for them to ride the buses?

we always take disney transportation ... and when the girls were little we held them in our laps, never a problem. the bus drivers are very safe drivers. of course we love the busses so my opinion may not be suitable.

I have always thought the WDW buses were very safe for small children. However, you may find that buses can be standing room only at busy times like park opening and park closing. If you see that a bus is full and you don't want to chance standing with your little one you can always let others behind you on the bus and wait for the next one and be first in line.

The only traffic accidents we saw last week at WDW involved private cars. We saw several minor accidents at intersections. It looked like the driver was reading signs and not looking and hit a stopped car.

I would always use Disney Transporation if at all possible. I also think the busses are very safe. We have always been able to9 get a seat, at least for my DW and the little kids. I also feel that unless you are familiar with the WDW roads it can sometimes be over whelming to try and read signs and drive at the same time.
