Song changes tune on me
Warning: Part rant, part whining.:(
Two weeks ago, I book a flight (BDL to MCO) for a January visit to WDW. I got a fair price, good seats, and convenient schedule from Song (Delta). Being a frugal sort, I deceided to check if the fares had changed. To my surprise, the flights were no longer listed anywhere. Were they full? Cancelled? I call Song and spoke with a very pleasant and helpful agent. She broke the bad news that my flights had been rescheduled "and I handn't been notified yet". My nice schedule of direct morning (going) and evening (return) flights was now evening (going) and morning (return). That equates to 2 half days lost on a four night trip. The best they could offer was connecting flights through ATL at approximately the same times as my original flights. I still trade 5 hours of WDW time for airport/airplane time.:( Instead of being relaxed knowing that our lodging and airfare was settled, I now need to keep an eye out on the slim chance that direct flights will be reinstated.;pinch: If you were, by chance, on Song flights 2561 or 2564, look again!

Oh, I'd be very angry!! I hope someone can give you some pointers on how to get some compensation for this irritation, even if it only means an upgrade to first class. Keep us posted and good luck!:)

Call Song back...Delta will compensate you if you want to cancel! I had this happen when my husband went to Vegas...they were moving his flights all around and all I did was call the airline and said that I was moved without being asked and that it was IMPERATIVE that he was on flights close to the times we booked! I said it was a personal emergency, and that they can't just change flights without letting us know. ANd it was the same deal as you...he was going for 4 days and would miss a full day because of travel!!!! Needless to say, they bent over backwards to find me flights that were satisfactory to my husband and that was it. I would DEFINITELY talk to someone in upper management and tell them that you absolutely cannot leave at night and go back home in the morning...you booked flights early in good faith and now that they are cancelled, they shouldn't penalize you for not accepting the new flights!!! GOOD LUCK, and let us know what happens!!!! :dazed

Thanks for the sympathy and suggestions everyone.
There don't appear to be direct flights on any airline at the times I prefer. I think that I will hold onto my new flights and hope that the schedule changes in my favor. In the mean time, I'll try to look maintain a "the (beer) glass is half full" attitude and plan on a 11:00 am cocktail in ATL as a way to ease into vacation. :p I'll update if there is any worthwhile news.

Thanks for the tip, *van*.
Unfortunately, neither airline flies out of Hartford, CT. So far, the level of inconvenience isn't high enough for me to consider BOS or LGA.

Know exactly how you feel--we have had our flights changed in St. Louis now x4 since booking in May. Just had it changed last week and looked Tuesday and it had been changed again. What is so frusterating is that they never notify us because our reservations were made through Disney and our travel agent. She is never notified either. I give up--Just waiting until little closer and then will call and find out when American Airlines wants us there!!!!They are very rude on the phone when you call them and don't help out when you ask for help trying to locate where your flight has been moved to--so why upset yourself with it when you still have 2 months to go and you know you will be moved many more times. I wish that Disney would give us a rebate or something--I know DREAMING:dazed .Good Luck though and LOTS OF PIXIE DUST TO YOU:love: :heart :) :)

That's bad news. I hope they don't start the juggle with my air times too....I hate not knowing. You guys are beng pretty cool about it. Upper management would have known me by name by now. I'm not nasty but I get anxious when things are not set in stone. The airlines confuse me. How can they possibly expect people to want to keep flying with all this "added crap" they serve with the expensive ticket you purchase? I hope it works out for both of you.

Did the airline say why they had to change all the times around? Is it because certain flights arent full and they are tring to fill that flight?
That happened to us once on a flight down to Miami. We had a morning flight planned and the afternoon flight wasnt even close to being 1/2 full so they decided to move us to that flight and also didnt tell us. Boy was I (well ya know) After about a good hour on the phone we wound up getting the morning flight, got up graded to first class and got a $100.00 credit on our next flight. If your not happy keep calling you will be surprised as to what can happen. GOOD LUCK ![]()

:madmad No what is happening is AA is on the verge of bankrupsy and St. Louis is being "downsized" as a hub. We have gone from our origional flight of 10:48 a.m. to a 8:30 a.m. flight to a 7:46a.m. flight to 7:25 a.m. flight and now a 7:25 flight with different flight numbers. Our return flights have also changes at the same times also. I guess this is why the AA personnel is so rude when you call. The last time we called we complained that we were tired of all the changes and that we had been planning this vacation since New Years Eve and were striving for the "perfect" vactaction. The AA customer rep responded that I was living in a "dream world:devil that something would go wrong and to just expect that.
Thanks for listening--Love you all DCers!! :heart :) :) :heart Becca

Look at SouthWest out of BDL. www.iflyswa.com They fly muliple direct flights to MCO, and their rates are very competitive. They were also very accomodating when my DW had to change and fly out of BDL instead of PVD.

Yes do southwest. I just got back and I took Southwest. I paid 200.00 pp. I won't book Song just because they are Delta really in disguise and Southwest usually never really changes as much as Delta.
